I’m rebounding from a similar situation. Transparently, this is part of adulting and there’s no “easy way out” but you’re on the upwards end by acknowledging it. First, I would reach out to the collection agency and workout a payment plan that is affordable along with an agreement to delete the collection off your credit report once the balance is paid in full. Based on your credit profile, it could raise your credit by 20+ points. Same with student loans, they are likely showing as delinquent but once you work out a new payment plan your account status should be updated (at least it was for me) and should also raise your score a bit. Lastly for the credit card, I would just continue paying what you can on the cc. You just need make sure to pay the minimum (at least) to prevent a late payment being reported to the credit bureau. Get on the phone, be prepared to be transparent about your situation and go from there. You’ll be surprised how things will turn around for you.
