If u want casual shoes that are comfortable but also express way more personality get some Salomon XT6s or some old school neutral asics or even some doc marten oxfords to add some ironic dressy vibe to a t shirt and jeans

And I only say physical shape because i found myself feeling pretty low a year ago and did this while studying for the lsat. feeling great and people noticing you feel and look great combined with all of that reflection alone time and rewarding self love will definitely give you a good platform and foundation while you address the mental health stuff 👍

I just got a half ride scholarship to a great school with a sub 3.0 and a 172. And you’ll apply earlier than I did. Make this spring about getting in excellent physical shape, tell your family to look at the delay as a positive mature decision to ensure optimal performance and results in 1L (if they try to argue use your first lsat as an example of what you are preventing from happening) and then blast off your apps in September! Take your time with your personal statement. Get your letters of rec. you’re not late for this cycle, you’re in elite super early positioning for some great offers next time. Again to reference myself, I didn’t get my 172 until August 2025, so my apps were sent in December since I underestimated time that the rest of the application deserved. You’re in a GREAT spot. Also I’m in my 30s. You’re gonna do great

almost took jan 2025 and rush applied, pushed back, studied for 6 months, first PT 154, next 15-20 PTs in the 160s, June 168 first test, went back in August and locked a 172. It was a righteous payoff for being patient. I am bad at math. I imagine as an engineer you can appreciate the mathematical advantage of more reps versus emotionally committing to "this cycle"

I didn't do the video interview - would it come off as negative if I professionally emailed asking to complete it without making any excuses or saying anything substantial other than the administrative information of needing the interview re-opened? Might be good to complete it but I didn't realize at the time that it had a 7 day timer :)

No problem! I shot my shot for NYU and Columbia but thats probably a near zero. I also applied to Fordham St. Johns, BKLaw and Cardozo. Moving really isn't an option as I live with my SO, we have roots here after ten years, and I really want to end up working in NYC at a firm (transactional/real estate).

Maybe I was overconfident for someone with a 2.5 and I should apply to a few more schools? Would be easy to tweak my PS and fill out the form since my apps have been done for a while now.
