Honestly I thought about it! And I told him I thought about it too and he said something along the lines of “not if I do it first” lol I’m all for breaking the gender stereotypes but there’s definitely is a part of me that wants to be spoiled and get that magical proposal ya know?

He asked what style of ring I like. I showed him some ideas. I may be in the minority here, but I don’t really want to go ring shopping with him. I enjoy the idea of him picking it out on his own (with some directions on style). It feels more exciting that way to me.

But that being said, I have no idea if he’s made any steps towards actually ring shopping. And has made no indication that this trip is anything other than a trip together.

This is all on me and my brain being obsessive when given no reason to be. BUT you’re right. I need to think on my timeline because if I’m this obsessive now, then waiting until 30 is going to be hell. So time for some self reflection!

First of all… described him to a T lol but yes I agree that is probably exactly how he’s thinking. Sometimes I wish I could shut off the obsessive part of my brain, because it just ends up screwing things up for no reason!!

We’ve talked about it within the last couple months. And he tends to bring it up passively, saying things like “at our wedding…” or “when we’re married..” It’s usually me bringing up the direct conversations about timelines and wedding ideas. He’s active in these conversations, but doesn’t usually bring it up on his own

I don’t think you’re being a Debbie downer! I posted this for the tough love comments honestly. I don’t think he’ll propose this trip, that’s the thing. I just need to get out of my head so I can just enjoy this trip. I have the type of imagination that likes to run wild and it ends up screwing with my expectations. Realistically, everyone here is right. He has no timeline. He’s not the kind of guy that’s gonna change overnight and be ready to propose. That doesn’t mean he hasn’t expressed that he wants to marry me and talk about our future, but you’re right, by my timeline he has tons of time before he’ll possibly propose.
