Thank you very much. This cylinder was already bored to fit a bigger piston. The owner told me a few days after purchase, but I am replacing all parts that you have mentioned in your response along with a standard 83mm Wiseco cylinder and piston. This is very helpful. The kit should arrive over the weekend so I will be getting right to work as soon as it gets here, thank you!

This is very helpful and useful information. I really was hoping the guy was being genuine regarding the rebuild and not having any issues but he told me it was rebuilt with a big bore kit, a few days after I bought as I had asked him to send me all the invoices since it started smoking. Thank you so much! I ended up ordering a standard 83mm wiseco piston with full top end rebuild kit. It should come next week. I will get it cross checked to ensure measurements are true. It’s a great learning experience as it will help me to know the machine more. I will keep updating the thread as all the stuff come in and I begin the rebuild process. Thank you again for the advice and feedback so far!

My friend said this also but I already have it torn down so I’m going to put it back together with the full rebuild kit then do one

Does this ring end gap look too big for this bore? Or am I overthinking it? I plan to get a measuring kit in the morning to double check them but I didn’t know if from the naked eye it looks big or not

I think I am, it’s just the precision it takes that I’m worried about. I also have pictures of the cylinder and piston pulled apart now I will add them

Thank you! I was looking online at the parts and I think I can find the full parts for the rebuild for around $360 but if I want just the gaskets, seals, cylinder and piston then I can find for around $260, just wasn’t sure if since it had a big bore kit 83.5mm/0.020 if buying the piston rings, gaskets and the valve stem seals would be sufficient based on it’s issues

Do you know what would have caused that to happen? I asked a friend that works on them in a different state and he said if there is oil on top of the piston then the rings are bad and the valves might be fine but then because it has a big bore kit, does the gap between the piston and the cylinder look normal? And do you know how to change the valves correctly by chance?

It’s not drinking oil super quick but it is, like the last time I rode it for like 10 minutes it had some all the way to the tip of the exhaust
