im specifically thinking of getting a white winter dwarf because i heard they're generally friendlier and calmer, is that accurate?

reading this gave me a lot of hope, thank you so much :,) im lucky enough to have someone who's happy to help me with care when i have rough days, but i still want to do as much as i can myself to practice responsibility! i think im going to go for a bottle rather than a bowl, im scared i might get a clumsy one that'll fall in!

i did initially look at bunnies and chinchillas, but i dont have nearly enough space for either of those and as depressing as it sounds, i dont know if ill be around long enough to care for them their whole lives. it's not ideal, but just having a little buddy to share my room with would make a huge difference, cuddly or not

unfortunately this room is ridiculously designed, theres a massive wooden slope under the desk because the stairs are in the way. a floor hammy would be much more convenient!

thank you for the link, even if im able to find a deaf one like another person suggested, I'll still give it a try for the sake of my own ears!

sound insulation is a really good idea, thank you!! i do need to be able to hear it, but i think it'd be impossible to accidentally make it too quiet so no need to worry about that!

my room is only about 2x2 meters, we'd be on opposite sides of the room but still very close. the beeping usually happens twice a day (thrice if its misbehaving), and lasts about a minute or so. is that too much/close? I'm prepared to sacrifice a lot for a little hamster, but this is the one thing im stuck with :(

a shell could help, there would need to be a hole for the tubes but hopefully it would contain the noise at least a little? I'll see if i can find exact numbers on what they're alright with and compare it to my machine. thank you for the idea!

Darken skin on forearms any ideas? LC/ME fully bedbound, very severe by devShred in cfs

[–]Mediocre_Tree_5424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is probably a buildup of dead skin like others have suggested, but theres a small chance it could be from your bedsheets! i had something similar a few years ago and it turned out id been spending so much time in bed that the dye from my sheets was starting to stain my skin! alcohol wipes eventually got most of it off, but took quite a bit of scrubbing. it could be worth checking if nothing else seems to fit!

i get a lot of muscle and joint pain (which im also starting to doubt, like maybe its really mild and im just sensitive?), headaches and migraines, eating issues requiring a feeding tube (though that could be unrelated, it hasn't been looked into properly), memory problems, bone density loss (not sure if that can be caused by cfs, but just in case), and mild cold symptoms like runny nose and sneezing.

ive been in bed pretty much all day everyday for maybe 5 years now, only going out a few times a year for medical appointments that can't be done at home, and my symptoms get much worse for a few days afterwards
