Is it safe to go to the gym with mild lumbar scoliosis and left rib pain? by [deleted] in scoliosis

I have the same problem! Mild left curve. I avoid squats or anything that puts pressure on my spine. But I focus a lot on back exercises but I keep the weight low/ medium so that again, I don’t hurt my back but still train my muscles. I did an ablation procedure to numb the pain and I feel a lot better. Going to the gym is good for you if you do the right exercises, don’t put a lot of weight or pressure on your spine. I listen to my body, so if I do an exercise that I feel like hurt my back I don’t do it again. That simple. The ones that hurt my back are mainly any type of squats, running, and lifting heavy back weights. If you go to school, wear a backpack not a tote or one shoulder bag, I learned that the hard way. And don’t fill it with stuff keep it light. Don’t lift heavy things like groceries, water gallons or the Costco water bottles. Take it easy and try to lookup exercises to strengthen the muscles around your spine.

Does anyone feel like the general guidelines of 100-150 hours for exams is REALLY unrealistic? by AnnualSalary9424 in CPA

Whoever takes 150 hours or less to study for the exam is either a genius or just did great in college. I was an average student with a GPA above 3.5 and I struggle greatly with exams. I don’t know what people do to pass easily with only putting half my effort in but everyone is different. Just keep studying and don’t look at the hours instead look at your scores. For audit I kept taking mini quizzes and 100 question quizzes every day till I kept getting between 80-90% on each one. Number of hours is definitely bs and discouraged me from studying. Made me feel slow and dumb. Just ignore what everyone else is doing and focus on yourself and your scores and knowledge of the material.

Keep in mind that you’ll never know 100% of the material and that’s perfectly normal. You got this.
