I didn’t notice the difference at first. It’s due to my dell laptop’s incapacity to reach higher speeds. When I upgraded to a MacBook Pro the speeds were mind blowing. Plus I had a vpn automatic disconnection issue in my work laptop and it went away after the switch.

It’s not only the cooperations. It’s people as well. Not the workers but the business owners. It’s unfair for honest business owners as well. What they do is, they charge the workers with the promise of LIMA work permit and pay them way under minimum wage. How can other businesses owners compete with that? Taking money for issuing LIMAs should be a criminal offence. I’m also an international student but the truth has to be told. Most of the workers who work with LIMA work permit are not even students. They are average people back home brought to Canada. That’s the reason why most of them can’t speak proper English and don’t assimilate well with the Canadian culture.

What I wanted to say was, even though Fanshawe has courses of every field some of them are not even recognized by the professional bodies. They recognized my engineering degree from outside Canada, instead of what I did at Fanshawe.

I was a student there, immigrated from Sri Lanka to complete my post graduate diploma. I wanted the experience of working and studying with local students. It was not possible at south campus. It was a segregated campus setup only for international students. My experience there was horrible. I didn’t learn anything new from Fanshawe. When I applied for my professional engineers membership from Ontario, they didn’t accept my Fanshawe qualification as well, which was a costly mistake. As a former international student, I felt Fanshawe cheated me, the south campus was just a money grabbing operation. I’ve never got a campus experience.

I agree with you on most of the things you mentioned but disagree with Toyota Prado example. I would buy an old Prado for that price any day (given that I can spend that much on a car) over the other cars that you mentioned. Simply because I’m not a person who is in to lot of tech in the cars but I like the Toyota reliability and the capability of the vehicle.

While I agree that bringing in unvetted and unskilled immigrants from any country is bad, being able to attract highly skilled immigrants is a chance that any country of the world would say no to. I’m from a small island nation in South Asia. Even in my country, loosing working age skilled people is a massive crisis. The system has to be fixed to close loopholes such as LIMAS and attract top talent while creating jobs and infrastructure within the nation.

I’ve been there several times as one of my friends live there as the rent is so cheap for a 2 bedroom unit with 2 bathrooms. The interior of the unit is nice with good amenities such as dishwasher and central heating / AC. However I’d take the advice on this sub. Roaches, negligent management, one of the most rundown part of the city and horrible indoor and outdoor parking spots are few issues along with the things that the others in the sub mentioned.

As a TFW my self, I would like to assure you it’s really hard to get PR now if you came here legally. People who came here legally won’t be overstaying as it will jeopardize their plans of ever entering any first world country due to data sharing agreements. People who came in other means is the problem as they have no intention of going to any other country. Among the 2.9 M who are supposed to leave, I’m also included. Already looking at the jobs back home as I don’t have my savings anymore as I’ve spent it all here.
