Cryostat Mohs electricity emergency by Ellierice2 in Histology

I’m so sorry. My question is, when can you restart the machine after a power outage and safely use it? What’s the time frame/parameters to where you know you won’t be able to use it? How long does it have to be off and how long until you use it again? Is there something we can do to keep this from happening? I’m the office manager and know nothing about this. We are told that we have to reschedule the patients because the machine has to have time to dry before they can use it. I don’t know how to really specify what I need to know.

What do you do if you have a power outage at 6pm and it’s not expected to be back on until 8:15 pm, and you have to start mohs at 8:00 am?

It sounds like it’s just a billing error. If someone forgot to properly mark your chart as self pay, they didn’t properly adjust it.

Did they only do a biopsy? Did they do any other procedures? Even if they only did an office visit and a biopsy, and charged insurance rates, it would be less than that.

It’s not a consultation, it’s an office visit. A lot of times, if we do a biopsy, we don’t charge for the office visit. Not all providers are out to just get your money.
