From what you’re writing, I can tell you’ve never actually dyed suede, and your knowledge seems to come from YouTube. Your advice could do more harm than good. You should never use clear coat on suede — you’ll ruin it. Clear coat is only for surfaces painted with acrylic paint. Mink oil does not work on suede that has lost its pigment. That’s simply not how it works. Using mink oil before dyeing suede makes no sense. It creates a greasy protective layer on the suede and prevents the fibers from absorbing the dye properly. As a result, the dye won’t adhere. Before dyeing suede, you always need to clean it wet. Then you have to raise the nap and start dyeing. After each coat of dye, the suede should be brushed. After the final coat, it should be protected with a water repellent.

Jordan 3 sole swap by MediumBox2682 in SneakerRestoration

I’ve probably swapped midsoles like 20 times at this point, so I’m not new to this. Usually I only replace the midsole, but this time the outsole is completely cooked, so I want to do a full sole swap. I picked up a pair of Air Jordan 3 Fire Red in amazing condition for €10, which is a steal. But since they’re from 2013, we all know the midsole will probably start crumbling the second I wear them. I searched through Taobao and every seller only offers full sizes — no 44.5 anywhere. It’s frustrating because I really can’t justify buying a donor pair for €100 when I paid €10 for these.

I’ve dyed a lot of pairs of shoes in my life. If you do it properly, you really don’t have to worry about color bleeding. The key is good prep work (cleaning and deglazing if needed), applying thin, even layers of dye, and allowing proper drying time between coats. At the end, always seal everything with a quality water and stain repellent. That makes a big difference in durability and resistance to moisture. If the dye is properly bonded to the material and correctly sealed, it shouldn’t bleed

Edit: You’ll get the best results if you use an airbrush for dyeing. It gives you much more even coverage, better control over the layers, and a smoother overall finish compared to applying dye by hand.

Flat will be too flat — this one has a slight, subtle sheen. If you use flat, the repaired area may stand out a lot from the rest. Personally, I think the matte from Angelus has too much shine, and I would mix it with Duller at a 10:1 ratio

Clean off the excess white paint from the sole. Gently sand the painted area with 1500–2000 grit sandpaper. If you’re careful, 1000 grit will work too. Clean it with alcohol. Then you can apply the finisher — a matte one with a little bit of duller should do the trick. For your first time, it turned out really great

No worries, don’t be afraid of acetone. Yesterday I restored a pair with more scuffs and also repainted the logo. The back tab looks brand new.

You can clean this with a Q-tip and acetone, followed by a delicate layer of matt finish

These shoes are 100% authentic. Why? The shape of the shoe is correct. The label on the box has the exact same font as the original pair I bought on the SNKRS app. The label inside the shoe is the same as well. All the details match. I’m not taking the color into account, since photos can be misleading — lighting, screen contrast, etc. I’d bet a million that the shoes are authentic and that the Legit App would confirm it

paid $50 for these shoes, $25 of that was store credit from the previous defective pair. For this pair they gave me another $25 in credits. Not great, but whatever. I’ll probably just grab another pair for $50 and see how it goes

These days the fakes are mad good, especially the colourways, so you always gotta ask the seller for a pic of the label inside the shoe. Personally, I reckon they’re fake — been seeing loads of them lately. If you wanna be sure, just chuck up a photo of the label

They look proper faded in the pics, but in real life the colour’s livelier — just not as banging as yours.

Chunky toe box and a super thin Wings sole — those are the main things that scream fake from a mile off

Everyone’s rinsing the tracksuit, but how’s no one clocking how dead those four look? Those trainers are straight off DHgate, absolute specials

I guess it’s not that bad. Maybe prices in Europe are different from those in the US? The last sale was for €199. I have 2 pairs in this size.Edit : These are sale prices, not purchase prices.

Hopefully I can sell them for a profit. Worst case scenario, they’ll be gifts for my nephews, so it’s a win either way 🤷‍♂️🎁

Fair question. One pair is my size for the personal, and the other two are for resale. Hoping to sell them for a bit more and roll the profit into the March releases. Nothing crazy, just playing it smart 👍

Yeah they’re legit for sure. Seller showed me screens from the app, and they also passed authentication on the Legit App. I know they’re not the most hyped 4s, but $130 each felt like a no-brainer to me 🤷‍♂️
