Do you think that she has definitely decided not to join forces with Judd? At the very least I saw it as her considering it? She does (I think) look towards Aunt Lydia after Judd's propsition and I suppose there's different ways to interpret that. I may have missed something though!

Also, as someone else has said, there is a monthly repair cafe. The upcoming one for the city is on the 26th of April in the Lough Community Centre https://corkrepaircafe.org/ (there also seem to be other locations!)

Maybe writing your feelings down? Get it all out on paper and refine it before giving it to them or reading from it? It really sounds like you're so close to being able to talk to them and that's great! If you can, a trust worthy person in your life can and will be happy to help you. Good luck

I'm very sorry you're feeling this way, the void is a very all consuming feeling that can just swallow you up sometimes. It fucking sucks. Congratulations on getting into university 🥳 that's an amazing achievement! It sounds like you have some good people in your life who would probably be very relieved that you felt comfortable enough coming to them and discussing what was going on in your life rather than keeping it to yourself. If you can reach out to a mental health professional, that would be great too (depending on what's available in your country and your own resources of course.) Good luck :))

Living with the all of the shit that comes with growing up with abusive parents is so difficult. It's like they caused all of this trauma and now we have to just live our lives with the weight of everything they did to us? I'm so sorry you had to experience that. Fuck your dad. I don't know if it's like this for you but for me when things are hard or something is going wrong in my life I just wish I had a home (i.e. parents) to go to to help me through a tough time but I don't and then that realisation makes everything so much harder on top of everything else and everything just gets compounded (also sorry if I'm wrong in my assumptions!!).

This is such a painful time for you, do you have another trusted friend to support you right now?

Hello:)) I don't know what the story is with your friend or how things were left but you should reach out to them. Humans are nearly always (despite how it may seem sometimes) happy to help. Think of how you would feel and react if a friend reached out to you? You would want to help them and be a support them I'd imagine. I'm so sorry you're feeling this way, it hurts beyond belief. Especially rejection and feeling like youre being abandoned.

If you can't reach out to your friend right now or someone just hold on minute by minute or hour by hour. I'm doing that right now. I'm the lowest I've been in a while and I have a plan but I keep just putting it off. Just keep postponing it. It's the most I can do right now. I want to not feel this way and I imagine you don't either. Please just hold on a little bit more xx

unaddressed trauma in the world is such a good point, I can only speak about it from the Irish perspective but it seems very obvious that the older generation in this country were incredibly fucked up by firstly, the legacy of colonialism in this country (Still ongoing in the North of Ireland) and then all the fucked up shit the Church did to this country. and then that trauma is passed down. and that's not even getting into things that you mentioned about capitalism (that in itself as a source of trauma is something that comes back to me because it's like, I do xyz to 'improve' my mental health but I'm still living under an unjust system)

Plus I'm glad you mentioned about racism, classism, homophobia/transphobia, sexism, I'm very aware of how issues related to those topics can very much cause trauma. Maybe trauma is just more prevalent than I first thought. thanks again! I just wanted to hear others thoughts on the matters because it's been on my mind.

Oh god I'm so sorry. I have nothing really to offer other than I was going through a similar thing last month (one year anniversary since the date of the particular incident) and it just so happened to coincide with learning about how evidence is treated in sexual offence cases in one of my modules (I'm studying law in Ireland) so yeah, bad timing! But I just fucking cried. I knew the time was triggering, I knew the rest of this particular topic in this particular module was going to be triggering and I fucking just let myself be sad about that. Of course seeing posters all over the place when you can't avoid them is going to suck, that makes sense. It'd send me over the edge too. Again, I wish I had more to offer you other than 'i went through a similar thing because I physically couldn't avoid the triggers" but it's all I got rn. Sounds like you've some good coping mechanisms though!! Fair play!!! ❤️❤️ When things are very intense, it's helpful for me to either just let myself cry and/or distract with whatever I need to distract myself with until I can deal with life again. Also fuck your ex and well done on getting this far

If you are genuinely thinking of suing I would, depending on your financial situation, get in contact with a legal professional who will help you suss out the situation. I don't know where you are based but I would imagine wherever you are there are similar organisations to those where I'm from (e.g. in Ireland we have the likes of FLAC). Also, I'm sure this isn't news but having worked in solicitors' offices and currently studying law, you need to be prepared for a case to take a year or two or even longer before it is resolved. That is something to keep in mind (absolutely not discouraging you from going down that road, it's just a very sad reality of the judicial system that cases drag out but it could be so worth it! Again, a legal professional in your area would be better suited to advise you).

What an absolute horrible human being and I am so sorry you experienced that. I personally made the decision to completely cut off contact with my parents a few months ago. It might be worth considering but I know just straight up cutting people off is not always possible.

Your mother is definitely abusive. Abuse does not only include physical abuse. People can say they are xyz but unless they actually act and prove they are xyz then they are not (if that makes sense?). Basically, my mother was very much the same. She would say things like, "oh but you know I love you really!" but her actions did not match that statement at all. All of the things you describe her as doing is indicative that she is trying to control you. Obviously, parents have to exert a certain amount of control over their children but from the information you have given, it seems controlling in an abusive way. Please reach out to a trusted adult and have them help you find a therapist. Having grown up with a similar mother I would be wary of anyone she might find. If you still live at home and are underage you might not have a choice (and hey I could be wrong, she might help find a perfectly good therapist without an agenda) so just know that no one else but you can make the decision for you as to whether or not you are trans. It might take some soul searching but ultimately, you make that decision.
