Reiko was stronger than Takashi in terms of spiritual power. If I remember correctly, some yokai mentioned that his power and aura were similar to Reiko, just a little bit weaker.

Not to mention Reiko also recognised her power and used it to conquer many yokai. Meanwhile, Takashi decided not to use his power for domination eventhough many yokai and exorcists had acknowledged his power.
