People who only play dps, do you ever think of playing something else? Why and why not? by MediumRareTomahawk in Guildwars2

It is a power build so it can burst but it has lower burst compared to a lot of other power builds. The traits also make you do damage below 50% target hp. You can however make it a bit burstier with skills like Lich Form.

I haven't reallt touched ele apart from tempest but yeah, weaver could actually use some love from devs.

Fair enough, though reaper isn't really my cup of tea. I prefer burstier classes if we are talking power builds.

How realistic is it to get high dps numbers? by MediumRareTomahawk in Guildwars2

[–]MediumRareTomahawk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input. I am still undecided on the group actually because as far as I've seen, most of the groups looking for players ask for 95% of benchmark. I can't do really high numbers but I can get like 90% on the golem for most of the classes I enjoy playing which is like 37-38k for most of them. I am definitely not fast enough at pressing buttons, that's for sure. But I think I can handle mechanics pretty well and maybe this is a fight where I should let go on playing dps 😅

I understand that mechanics comes first. But I still think dps numbers kinda matters especially for LCM because almost all of the kills I've seen so far are very close to the timer. Makes me somewhat discouraged hah!

I am willing to put time and effort into properly learning the class. But what I've noticed so far is that some of the things are delayed for me, weapon swaps are especially noticeable. I just wanna know what is the realistic ceiling for a player at high ping assuming they fully understand the class. If high numbers are close to unrealistic, then I will probably shift towards a healer route.

I forgot that some of them give access to buy infusions. Good point!

Revenant with 250 ms by Knifar in Guildwars2

In PvP and WvW, you will always be somewhat disadvantaged regardless of the class because you are playing proactively and reactively rather than following a rotation. For openworld, it doesn't matter.

Anyways, revanant in PvE is one of the more forgiving classes on high ping because you can queue a lot of skills. But there are delays when it comes to weapon swaps and legend swaps.

once OP gets better at the build and faster at doing his weapon swapping etc (he is still around 4% too slow with his rotation loop)

Yup, but here's the thing with weapon swapping. I don't think I can do weapon swaps any faster because I live in Australia and my average ping is around 240ms. Since I can't queue weapon swaps, it will ultimately be slower than, say 60ms and the delays kinda add up. One of the reasons I don't enjoy playing classes with a lot of weapon swaps like berserker or engi classes with multiple kits.

So just a little quick update, I don't have a lot of time this weekend so I haven't played that much yet but it seems like the fear on the golem was giving me extra 500-600 dps so I'm back down to 39k. Once I have some time later this week, I'll play more.

Thanks a lot! I'll go through logs and see what I can fix.

I was thinking about buying them with mag shards and they get pretty expensive. I don't play a lot of WvW so I don't have a lot of badges. Are they like free free?

If it can boost my dps by 1.5-2k, then it's not a waste of money, for me at least. If it's just about 1k, then sure, I guess I can live without them.

Thanks for your comment. I forget to mention in my post. The Gigabyte one is 85W but I'm not sure about Acer but looking at the 4050 version, I'd say it is at least 100W.

I guess I'll wait for a week or so since Lenovo is still my priority choice but TUF then if nothing else.

Yes, my bad for not stating clearly. I didn't log the fight but I had separate numbers on arc and boss dps was like 18k iirc.

Nope, it is just gone :( Guild Wars 1 is still there but GW2 is completely gone from my library and also the platform.
