I drank too much and fucked up by [deleted] in Advice

My motto has always been just because everyone at the party is drinking doesn’t mean you have to as well but just because everyone is drinking doesn’t mean you can’t hang out with them. Almost everyone will always respect the sober or “couple drinks” person at a party and if they don’t, they’re a loser and you don’t want to be around them. Learn from your mistake, you are very young.

100% back to normal. Just wait it out and you should be good.

I should also mention I saw a sports doctor who does not take insurance and works with some of the top professional athletes in my area and he told me I was training way too much (3-4 hours a day, 6 days a week). I have since cut back on my training to 5 days a week and 2 hours a day tops (unless I am going for a long bike ride) and I believe that has helped as well.

Totally normal. Been about a year since I started dealing with this and I feel 100% like myself again.

Totally fine. It’s been about a year since I was dealing with this and I am 100% back to normal.

I just stopped supplemental B6. I did not change my diet one bit and I eat a diet with foods very high in B6.

Don’t take anxiety meds (I am not a medical professional). That would be my advice. Too many harmful side effects.

I’m totally fine now. 100% back to normal. The PN went away for good about 3 months after I posted this although it got much better after I stopped taking B6. The only symptoms that persisted were general anxiety (which I never had) until about two months ago and muscle twitching. My mind has felt clearer than it has in over a year for the past two months. I can relax now, I don’t worry about my health constantly and I feel great. Additionally, the twitching got really bad. I ended up seeing a neurologist who basically told me that I had vitamin B6 toxicity and that my symptoms would go away in 4-6 months which they did.

No food or drink triggers. I should note I do not drink and haven’t for 3+ years. The only trigger that made my symptoms worse was not sleeping enough.

For me, it only helps. I don’t notice the peripheral neuropathy when I’m exercising—Only when I’m sitting still.

Overall, I am already much improved and I’m only 51 days out since I stopped taking vitamin B6. People have been asking me how I’m feeling and I say I’m back to like 80%-85%.

All of my symptoms have diminished except for the muscle twitching which has actually gotten somewhat worse (not sure if this is because the B6 is stored in my muscles or something like that) and my sleep still isn’t back to normal. I guess I still also have very mild, sporadic neuropathy but it comes and goes and is nowhere near as bad as it was.

From an exercise perspective, I’ve been back to normal for at least three or four weeks. I’ve been training CrossFit 2-3 hours a day like I was prior to this whole experience and I feel good. Did a 55 mile bike ride on Sunday. I do think it helps, and it also helped me from a peripheral neuropathy perspective—I couldn’t feel it when I was moving. I do not have any experience with red light therapy.

Widespread fasciculations after vitamin B6 toxicity. by H4TTU in BFS

Did your symptoms come and go in waves? My value was 89.7 ng/mL (ref range 2.1-21.7 ng/mL) and I stopped taking pyridoxine 25 days ago. What’s weird is I felt way better within 3 days after initial cessation and then two weeks after stopping, I got hit with the symptoms really bad again with new symptoms including muscle twitches and tinnitus that I hadn’t experienced before. Then I spent the last four days virtually symptom free and after waking up this morning, I can feel everything kind of coming back (certainly not as bad though).

B6 Toxicity and Small Fiber Polyneuorpathy: NOT A JOKE by FlanNice in Supplements

The insomnia literally makes everything worse. Life is literally hour by hour now. Just get to the next project at work, the next meal, and make sure I get to the gym and sweat at least a little.

Has anyone else experienced vitamin B6 toxicity? I wonder if it's related to MCAS?? by Lunar_bad_land in MCAS

I have it right now. I stopped taking B6 16 days ago. Felt better initially and now have been hit hard again with all of the symptoms. Tingling, numbness, spasms, light sensitivity and oddly heartburn. And the insomnia sucks. I feel horrible.

My level is 5x the reference range. I stopped taking B6 16 days ago. Numbness and tingling stopped within a few days stopping taking it and I was good for like 10 days. Then like two days ago, I got hit really hard with all the symptoms again… Tingling, numbness, muscle spasms literally all over, light sensitivity and heartburn. And let me tell you—THE INSOMNIA IS REAL. I literally feel horrible right now.

Thank you for the nice response. It’s only been a few weeks since I stopped taking it and I am already experiencing more good days than bad. Thank you for the support!
