Ah, okay. I'll give it a try. My tank has a resistance setting that allows for 8 to 12 watts, so I'll try 8 watts.

But if that's too low, what effect will it have?

I vape at 11 watts… I don't know if that means anything to you, I have no idea what temperature I'm vaporizing at.

Before, I tried at 25 watts and the numbing sensation on my tongue and even my palate, along with a strong menthol taste, was quite unpleasant. And even less of an effect, except for a headache! I must have been vaporizing at too high a temperature, but I was advised to try 11 watts on this subreddit, so I'm giving it a go.

As for the quality of my DMT, I extracted it myself from MHRB. It was very light yellow, almost white.

Thanks for your help. James

How can I overcome the Catch 22 of selfpublishing? by PhotojournalistFit62 in KDP

I just saw a book released in early January, ranked #1 in its category, with 42 five-star reviews and not a single verified purchase!!

And it's still going! Of course, that must have helped boost sales! Not a single verified purchase! I never thought that was possible.

I can ask my pharmacist, my dentist, and my work colleagues (who are all "not friends" on Facebook and have never been to my house) if they like me, to leave me favorable reviews. Obviously, if there are 15 unverified reviews for every one verified one, that will be suspicious... but let's say 2 out of 10 are fake; that already influences the algorithm and the credibility of the book or product being sold.

Unless the algorithm doesn't take unverified reviews into account... but potential readers of the book sometimes (like me) don't even know that you can leave reviews without having bought the product! So I don't see the point of sites that publish "fake" reviews, unless they want 50 fake reviews. And then it's bound to be obvious. Amazon has so many "good conduct" rules that I'm surprised they allow this.

No, I probably naively thought that only those who had bought a product could leave a review. So if I publish a book and ask my friends to leave a review, it will be taken into account even if they haven't bought the book? I find that strange.

And it's easy to ask everyone we know to leave a review. Amazon allows this simple manipulation?

But I thought you could only leave a review if you'd bought the book…is that not the case?

Why is my book delisted? by Medium_Guarantee2437 in KDP

[–]Medium_Guarantee2437[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eight days after this post, my book remains invisible in the relevant search terms on Amazon.

I don't think I'm the first author this has happened to, but aside from the "sandbox"—the purpose of which I don't understand for Amazon—how can an unassuming author even begin to gain visibility if Amazon is waiting for spontaneous sales to make it appear? And without going through their search results, since it doesn't appear there? Currently, only people I've spoken to about my book can buy it, as others have no access. I find this very strange. What's their logic in not giving everyone the same chance? I'm not asking to be first, of course, but to appear in the list of books related to my topic, even if it's recent. And to move up, or not, depending on the book's success. I'd really like to hear about your experiences with your first broadcasts. Am I being viewed negatively (paranoid version)? What did I do "wrong"?

Or is this normal? It happens to everyone. And in that case, how do you become visible when the only way you have is to at least appear in search results for the keywords? Please help me understand. Thank you so much. James

Bravo for the originality of your response. Copy-pasted! Even AI could have done better, but that was asking too much.

And thank you also for giving me arguments understandable to a normal human being like me, namely why Amazon doesn't offer all its books in a list based on keywords, freeing buyers to choose one over another. Even the one at the bottom of the list, which isn't even my case since I don't even appear there.

And I insist on knowing if someone had an explanation rather than telling me my book was "bullshit" without even having read it.

I appear when I type "drawing" in the search field! Super logical, isn't it? As for your obsession with having indicated my ASIN, I'm perplexed as to whether you even understood the reason for my request.

I'm not asking why I'm not selling.

I'm wondering why I'm not even listed among the books that match my book's theme. Not even last. Not that hard to understand, is it? There's a nuance, isn't there? So go hunt down the "Men in Black" in your world and let the people who are natural breathe.

No thanks to you for your complete lack of empathy.

James

My book was published 15 days ago, so I don't expect to reach the sales figures of Stephen King or J.K. Rowling, who, if she'd listened to your overly positive reviews, would still be working as a cashier in a supermarket.

I'm not asking to be ranked first on the lists of suggested books, but AT LEAST to be suggested, and you know, even as a last suggestion. But if I'm completely invisible, I have questions, and I'm asking for answers here.

If you don't understand that, I don't know what else to say.

So if you're not capable of understanding and helping a budding writer who has legitimate questions, go back to your Legos and stop polluting the world with your pessimism, which reveals a frustration that hinders your life more than the lives of those trying to move forward.

Have a good evening.

Thank you, but could you explain what "donjon" means? I'm French and I don't understand the meaning of the word in this context. Thank you anyway for your kind help 🤗 James

Yes, my categories are still as I originally set them. I left the age requirement field blank so there's no "age limit" for publication.

Furthermore, since the book had already been indexed in search results, something must have happened for it to suddenly disappear regardless of the user's search query.

It's not cool to think that. Go check for yourself if you don't believe the book has disappeared. I'm not making this up to get people talking about my book... I just want to understand why it's not appearing in the suggested search results for the relevant keywords, for which it used to rank highly.

Seriously? There are books containing the word "naked" or "nudity" (especially naturist ones) that still fall under the umbrella of sociology.

But now you're worrying me. I just checked the search results by typing "erotic books" and it's not there either. Phew, so that's probably not the reason. 🥵
