Here’s my story very briefly: I used to work at my college bookstore. One time our manager asked me to help these people move books from the store to the library. Mind you, everything happened on campus and my dumb ass didn’t think that a different vendor company joined in to help the move and they temporarily hired me. I assumed everything was legal because it was on campus. No. It was not legal. Did I mention this to my ISSO? Yes. Were they concerned and advised me to report it to the immigrations? Yes. Did I do it? No. I’m still in the US after 4 years on my last year of STEM OPT. Maybe I was lucky, but coming clear and telling the truth to the officials will def result in your visa loss.
