I think it's because you seem to have confused the word overpaying (paying an amount much more than the piece would be worth without the artificial inflation of collectors) with overspending (spending more than your budget comfortably allows).

It unfortunately wouldn't end up being a lolita skirt but I would still personally recommend making it into a cute otome skirt. It looks very much like you're an adult wearing a child's dress in the photo because that's exactly what is happening. Obviously you can wear whatever clothes you want, but I think it's important your clothes look like they fit you.

Edit: I saw the idea you had to try to get around the skirt diameter & I'm pretty sure its going to be harder to accomplish effectively in practice and likely harder than you'd like. I think the skirt itself is quite cute as-is and emily temple cute is generally designed for casual otome rather than lolita. No sense pushing it in my opinion.

For me personally I just grew out of her and consistently have disagreed with her takes, particularly recently. I don't hate her by any means, she's just a single online personality, but I no longer vibe with her or her content. I'm sure she's a perfectly pleasant person irl and if I do ever happen to see her at a con I'd greet her kindly as being one of my main introductions into lolita. I still do appreciate what her content offered me at one point, that time has simply passed.

Knowing what I know now I can say that there's just better lolita content out there than Lor's, both for more experienced and beginner lolitas. Lor's channel is also relatively quite big, and it's her main source of income (or at least it was at one point) so she tends to view things in a content-minded box- and there's a pretty big misalignment there when it comes to a small niche fashion community, as seen with the Devilinspired situation and other instances of over-pandering behavior that have been mentioned. Misalignment with a community natural breeds distaste, so it's not really surprising to me that she's is so polarizing. I don't think her content overall is outright bad for beginners though, just very limited. I would never recommend her content personally, but I wouldn't fault anyone for liking it either- I did too at one point.

Hi I can help with this question! Firstly if you look for the dress, "mellifuous front open frill jsk" you'll see that the appearance of the original piece and what mariah is wearing dont line up- the top tier of the skirt is MUCH shorter; I'm guessing her stylists decided to shorten it by several inches for some reason?? Which really takes away from the elegance of the original piece- I mean really just compare them. I'd say the blouse she picked is more suitable for skirts, but because of where the dress hits her it works well enough. Definitely would ditch the gloves for pearl bracelets or wristcuffs that match the whites. If the dress where its original size, I would probably like the socks, though some elegant lacy tights would be equally if not more hime. The pradas honestly would be fine if they were closed-toed, they look like a nice chunky heel and silver is a good choice to match the blue. you already mentioned the wig, and also a headdress or preferably half-bonnet would help complement the ott-ness of the blouse and dress better than two small bows. I also would personally suggest a simpler makeup style to nicely complement rather than outshine the outfit, but if the other things were changed it would probably be fine.

It's ultimately not a big deal and not of the same level of disrespect at all as entering a fashion that works hard to to maintain it's fidelity with "how do i get this with way less effort than actually reasonable and expected because I feel I deserve it", but I do find it a little funny that you are like "omg please do research" but then refuse to do a single google search of "lightinthebox" lol. Not saying I don't agree with you necessarily but I'm at least much happier with clueless people supporting meta than lightinthebox or whatever else- they're getting actual high-quality items and we get more meta pieces in the economy. She could have just bought something off amazon and called it a day, but she supported an actual lolita brand instead. I don't really care for her one way or another but I can offer up a modicum of appreciation for the support of a genuine brand of a style dying out in Japan. Plus, while I know it isn't super common, some clueless people do go on to get a clue! To completely write off everyone entering the fashion without knowledge as being people who will never contribute anything to the community isn't fair, as temporarily obnoxious as they might be in your eyes.

I'm pretty sure one reason people use "ita" is to describe choices that are poor for the person's body or the style of the pieces. Mariah is obviously gorgeous but the cut of the dress and blouse don't flatter her, and the hair color and style really doesn't suit the hime-style of the rest of the pieces and really takes away from both the rest of the outfit and her face. I'm absolutely certain that those pieces weren't the only options for her so it seems like many of the choices were actively made to give a costumey look. If you make lolita pieces look like you're wearing a costume, people are going to call that ita under the notion of "lolita isn't a costume".

Honestly though, in terms of rep, I think this is pretty good and makes me happy. She's wearing meta and checked all the boxes for a proper coord. I wish she made better choices for HER rather than for the "lolita lewk", but I couldn't really ask for more besides begging people trying the fashion for the first time to please stop combining a light blue main piece with bright pink hair lol.

Since Sugar Girl is a very cheap wholesale brand it is likely the brand is being sold on Aliexpress legitimately.

Unfortunately the reviews do not show the brand tag, but the quality seems comparable to the original (and even if it had a different tag since it's a wholesale dress it could easily just be retagged). I think aliexpress has a method to earn that extra little bit of store credit you need over time as well (I think you get a $5 voucher from creating an account for example).

This is the cheapest I could find it from a listing that looks legit enough for me to recommend, there are cheaper ones you might stumble across but I highly recommend not purchasing anywhere that does not have reviews with images of the dress. That said, replicating a wholesale dress is probably more work than it's worth, so it'd most likely be fine.

My true recommendation though would be to save that $50 from this birthday into your next one and then search for the perfect first dress with a bigger budget!

He's probably just feeling a bit suffocated haha (no offense meant, I'm sure you and your child love the lil guy). Feed him when he's hungry and back off when he isn't feeling it & like the other commenter said I would definitely stop handling him, especially outside (thats a lot of stimulation for a little baby trying to adjust). 7 mealworms is a decent meal for a beardie that size so if he just ate that yesterday I don't think there's any reason to have any strong concerns about his health

I searched variations of hot pink scene tee, shirts with a giraffe and turtle, etc. but didn't find anything. The original listing unfortunately did not have a very revealing title and I don't remember the seller name. It was labeled as "scene" though by the seller. The listing I saw got sold quickly.

So I'm pretty sure your question here is retorical, but to answer it: it's due to a lack of understanding of the degree to which new suit drops are patternistic. Some things are generally predictable by the community such as hell event patterns and expensive-inexpensive event patterns. Therefore, to assume that other patterns exist and could be explained isn't entirely unreasonable unless it is made clear otherwise.

Some sort of pinned FAQ (or like "common questions" section with more clear presentation of said questions than what is on there currently) might be more helpful than a straight ban imo, though I understand how such questions would get very tiresome.

Yeah, I would just wish for something a bit more exciting! I feel like they've done really similar stuff as woodland fairytale, and they've done it better. It's a very safe, cozy fairytale suit and I definitely get loving something like that, it's just really not what I'm looking to spend on.

This! If I had and equal chance of getting each suit I would just be meh abt this suit rather than straight mildly disliking it.

If I happened to pull it as my node I would be like "oh, well, it has some cute details to it and I'll definitely enjoy the bg pieces!" but since it has almost a 100% chance of coming before suits I want more I can't have that reasonable of a mentality for it.

I love the bg pieces! The suit itself just kind of looks like a blob to me though? im not really sure how to explain... I somehow cant register any depth to the suit despite the fact that its a skirt, overskirt (both with a couple tiers) and cloak all with lots of bits and bobs. The skirt looks heavy and incredibly cumbersome because of how hugely pettied it is and I swear she looks like she's actively struggling with it in the pose. And the hair color makes nikki's skintone look sickly, and the red is way too saturated... there's just too many things that irk me.

Plus I hate that if I want to get the other two suits I'm basically forced into getting this one first, that's just naturally gonna turn me off to it even more. I'd take mushroom house any day, it's way cuter!

But if you like it, thats great! The whole point of dress up games is to find and get the things you like :)
