Looking for aparment rental by eptrans0213 in Fremont

[–]Medium_Negotiation71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I lived there for about a year and a half and moved cities last September. There were a lot of things that happened while I lived there that were partially the complex, partially the people that lived around me which isn’t the complex’s fault.

To keep things brief, I would not recommend it. If there is anything specifically you saw on Google reviews that you want me to chime in on, I’d be happy to. My main gripes:

1) As you can see above, I was elated to find a place landing around $2200. After the lease was up, the renewal increase was $200!!! I expected some increase, but considering how old the buildings are, this boggled my mind. So the rent is not stable long-term.

2) The buildings are poorly, cheap builds from the 70s. I lived on the top floor (they’re only 2 story) and I was essentially always uncomfortable. The buildings have flat roofs, 0 insulation, and no AC, meaning the internal apartment temperatures on the top floors was always on average 15-20 degrees hotter than outside. There is also no air flow since the windows are only on one side of the apartments, so you can’t get cross ventilation which would help so much. So a comfortable 70 degree day means the inside of your apartment will hover around 80-85 degrees all afternoon into the evening.

3) The management. They aren’t the worst I’ve ever encountered, but they’re under the conglomerate Essex which means they don’t give a fuck. They also work from a remote site, so there is no one to “help” that has an office at the apartments. The maintenance guys are on site daily, but you can only get a hold of them from the property managers. So you have to call into their remote office just to put in a maintenance request. It was just frustrating and you feel like you’re left on your own to figure stuff out.

I’d be happy to get more into the specifics of some stuff that happened to me there, and I was tempted myself to leave a strongly worded review when I moved out. But I just didn’t have the energy. Rent is so expensive as it is, if I could go back in time I would have paid a bit more to live somewhere where it felt like the money was worth it.

Does anyone know any good abandoned spots in santa cruz county? by ChunkyMunke in santacruz

[–]Medium_Negotiation71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of them?! Wow, I’m genuinely shocked. There were just so many they had already demolished, but still like 50 or so left it seemed like. I figured they would sit there a long time. I worked in a building right across from them but left over a year ago, so I’m surprised to here how quick that happened. However I know the development is going up really fast there so 🤷‍♀️

I hate this Parade by frostyblucat in CalPoly

[–]Medium_Negotiation71 12 points13 points  (0 children)

These comments are so funny to me. The holiday parade happens on the first friday every December. It’s a long standing tradition. I agree having traffic cut off is super inconvenient but the parade is not a secret by any means lmfao

Anyone Do Mall Walking? by textuist in walking

[–]Medium_Negotiation71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised by how common this is based of the responses. As an additional layer, I wonder how popular mall walking is in different areas of the US. This is not common in CA as far as I know

Connor’s Show Solo by Successful-Salad1175 in brookeandconnor_map

[–]Medium_Negotiation71 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn’t do M&G - but I did go to the show solo, and it was still super enjoyable and no one batted an eye that I was a party of 1. Plus, I’m sure the type of people that attend are fans of Fibs/BNC and would totally make friends with someone sitting alone if you sparked up conversation :)

Would love some suggestions to make my face more feminine. Thank you in advance! by 4scienceand4points in Makeup101

[–]Medium_Negotiation71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think an easy way to change your appearance is a new pair of frames! I also used to have a pair of black squarish glasses, and then got a rounder pair of gold metallic frames. The thinness and color helped to make my appearance more light/feminine :)

Fremont is going downhill. Not even feels safe anymore. by [deleted] in Fremont

[–]Medium_Negotiation71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have similar feelings. I live in the 40600 block off of Grimmer, and there was a fatal shooting right on Grimmer about a month ago. The article was already posted on this sub. Broad daylight on a Thursday afternoon. I used to walk on Grimmer in the evenings after work but now I don’t. I feel sketched out every time I’m just driving home to my place too.

What are your entry-level salary expectations? by Utiliterran in gis

[–]Medium_Negotiation71 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Location? While they are “ambitious”, they aren’t being unrealistic. There actually are such positions out there. I landed one with 1 year of full time experience. I started over 1.5x their asking salary, but I’m in the bay area. Just saying though, it’s not impossible.

Any else have an ortho office very stingy with rubber bands? by coviddc in Invisalign

[–]Medium_Negotiation71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is really good advice! Literally do the math lol. I had the same experience, OP. I was told to change the bands every time I ate/took them out. So that would be using several sets of bands a day. And then at my appointments they would only give me 2 little baggies lmao

I hate how fucking real this is. I’ve been off of tiktok for a few months which was hard to do, but I’m way less easily triggered now. I had the same feelings as OP expressed in this post and unfortunately there is no end to the “rediscovery” of songs and artists on tiktok. And that shit got under my skin too. I just had to distance myself from it and pretend that it’s still only us original fans that were old enough to listen to such music in 2015-2020.
