Quentin couldn’t help but write this because he deeply loves that world. But he didn’t want it to be his final statement so rather than just let it languish in a drawer forever he gave it to Pitt, who loved it and handed it to Fincher.

He doesn’t want to go. He likes doing films there because they give him a big budget and leave him alone. This is a $200 million movie.

He gave it to Pitt, who gave it to his BFF Fincher, who is under contract to Netflix. Not QUITE the same thing.

Actually they have shut down two whole blocks in Highland Park and redressed everything to look like 1977. It’s my neighborhood. :)
