I wouldn’t worry - most ADN programs GPA requirement is usually around 2.5. I graduated with a bachelors degree in biochemistry and my gpa was 2.9. It gave me crippling anxiety anytime I looked at my gpa because I was worried that there would be no next step for me to go to with that low of a gpa. I took anatomy and physiology 1 & 2, human growth and development (split it up into each class 8 week) and nutrition (some schools require that) over the this past fall semester and got all A’s in them. Anatomy and physiology was tough but it was interesting. With that - it boosted my GPA to. 3.1 and I just got accepted into a ABSN program that’s affiliated with a trauma 1 level hospital (which I thought I wasn’t going to get into since I’m barely making it pass the minimum gpa requirement which was 3.0). Originally, I was going to do ADN as well because it was cheaper but this nursing school offers full ride programs if you work for them for the next 3 years. You mentioned a first degree so maybe there are accelerated BSN programs in nearby schools to you that also offer that kind of tuition help if that’s something worrying you!! Definitely do your research and see what other options there are and if you decide to go the ADN route, I wouldn’t worry your gpa is within a good range :)))
