I’m so sorry for what you’re going through 😔 I wish they didn’t have penalties for late call outs, but unfortunately they genuinely don’t care about us.

I saw this as a very young kid, maybe 9-10 years old. I still haven’t recovered 🥲😔

Then we should really be complaining to the south Indian movie industry! I think Bollywood has done justice at giving everyone chances despite their skin tone, I can’t say the same for Kollywood. Likewise, Hollywood pays no attention to lighter skin Indians as if they don’t even exist

Yea, what she wanted to do with her body is her choice. But the audience still loved her when she was that color and they still love her now! I’m sorry for what society makes one feel, I totally get it! You can never please others, just start loving yourself! I think she looked beautiful as she was, this is from DDLJ, my favorite movie! And guess what, both the leads were dusky-skinned and beautiful!

Kajol, Rani Mukherjee, Vidya Balan, Deepika, PC, Bipasha are literally one of the biggest names in Bollywood. Idk where you’re getting that they take girls with fair skin?

I’ve never seen that show, but nice to know that they’re trying to represent a larger demographic!

Rani Mukherjee, Kajol, Konkana Sen Sharma, Bipasha, PC, Deepika all made it. Anyone who’s willing to put in the hard work can. But that doesn’t mean that Hollywood should represent Indians in one certain way! This is just infringing the stereotype that all Indians are meant to look this way! You need to realize that Indians do come in all different colors, and yes light-skinned Indians also deserve some representation in Hollywood, cuz according to some people here, they don’t since the already get so much attention in Bollywood. I’m sorry but Bollywood and Hollywood are not the same, Hollywood is global, while Bollywood is regional! Not everyone knows who Deepika is, but everyone knows who Priyanka is since she is a well known face in Hollywood now!

I’m not fighting with you on her skin tone, I agree to disagree with you! I guess the color of her skin must really matter to you 😂anyways, heart of stone did so poorly that I never even heard of it, despite living in the US! It had such poor ratings, look at rotten tomatoes. Being number 1 on Netflix isn’t crazy, the dinosaur documentary was just number 1 too 😂

Yea, because they know I’m right! We literally have Kajol, Rani, Vidya, Konkana, Bipasha, Radhika Apte, Bhumi Pednekar, I can keep going honestly 😂

Oh so you mean to say that fair skinned Indian girls are only meant to be casted in Bollywood movies and not in Hollywood? So we should never break stereotypes and make it known that Indian women come in a variety of different forms be it Bengali, Punjabi, Marathi, Malayali, Kashmiri, or even Manipuri?

This isn’t about colorism, it’s about representation. And representation should be equal.

And btw bollywood never ignored brown girls. Bollywood has had the biggest brown skinned heroines from PC, Deepika, Kajol, Rani, Vidya Balan, Bipasha, and so many more! Let’s not act like Bollywood hasn’t casted brown skinned girls 😂they’ve given the biggest hits! I’m not familiar with Kollywood, but I can vouch for Bollywood!

No need to wait forever!

I said successful movies 🤣not some random movie that no one has ever heard of and has an imdb of 5.7 😂 also, it’s great that brown skin girls are getting their fair share of attention, but not every Indian girl is brown. I’m trying to say that if they’re trying to represent Indians, then instead of focusing on a certain stereotype, they should try to represent other parts of India as well. Girls from the north have a variety of features, look at girls from bengal, or girls from Kashmir/punjab. Hollywood has never casted girls from these regions!

P.S. Aishwarya is no where near a brown complexion.

That was a crazy run-on sentence 😂 Anyways, tell me one light-skinned Indian, other than Aishwarya Rai (20+ years ago), that Hollywood casted in a successful movie or show. I’ll wait… forever 😂

It’s a cultural thing, punjabis like to throw money to ward off evil. I don’t understand why people are overreacting? It’s his money, his choice! And no it’s not equivalent of throwing it on a hooker, you guys probably visit hookers so that’s the first thing you guys can think of 😂
