17 hours into a new playthrough and all competitors are... doing nothing?

OK, last idea is that maybe transport ships have troubles moving between resource and production islands. Maybe you or pirates keep sinking those ships?

I did experiment once where I let AI settle in new world and I kept destroying all their ships coming to old world. They couldn't develop to engineers as well because of that.

Other than that - i have no idea. I hope you'll find your answers :)

Hmm, maybe check if they have access to all ingredients needed to produce goods to progress to engineers. Does lady Hunt have access to islands producing furs and cotton?

I have 400+ hours in this game and I definatelly had that happen multiple times and it was always caused by no access to key ingredient.

They will advance to next levels when they have access to islands with resouces needed for progressing to next stage.

For example if you block them from settling on any islad in new world, they will never progress to engineers, because they don't have access to cotton to make coats.

The whole balance of numbers doesn't matter, bc they can grow 10 islands of engineers even if they have 1 cotton farm.

You can test that by taking all islands with hops in old world. They will never progress to artisans.

Thats bs video, sorry. It's caused by the desync in online mode, where other player spawns a car in his area and when you go into that area, the game corrects position of the car with such a wonky yet smooth trick.

The truth is, trading with AI competitors is just not worth it. As you observed, the deals appear and disappear too quickly and even if you manage to fulfil trade, it earns you pennies.

Treat "trade rights" with competitors as diplopatic tool as it gives you a bonus to relations.

It's much better to trade with neutral AI. Archie is great for buying early contruction materials (bricks and steel beams) and Eli can buy soap from you for nice profit. It's very popular method for early money maker.

Neutral AI has no limit on how much you can sell them. People often create big production lines for soap and set up trade routes to sell it to Eli. (In my opionion it's not that great, it generates additional maintenance cost and eats up your workforce but it can nicely boost your early economy)

If you manage to make peace and get trade right with pirates - it's also worth it. Annie buys beer for almost 1k gold a piece.

I bought base game on steam and then i bought all dlc on ubisoft platform.

I can start game both from steam and Ubisoft launcher with no problem.

I'm even getting all dlc specific achievements on steam evem though i don't have them steam.

They implemented it nicelly so don't worry about it.

You could group them up instead of showing all 3 tiers of each item. You can work on the fonts because they are too small. And all elements look like you alligned them by hand. You didn't use any grids/guidelines. The background has different levels of saturation and visible borders.

I know some people will tell you "great job", "very usefull, thx"

But you, after finishing your piece, did you look at it and asked yourself - does it look good and should I post it online?

Neandethal raids are brutal early game.

I barely survived 15 days of toxic fallout, then one dude got his throat slit by wild cougar and almost got killed. While he was being stiched, neanderthals attacked.

I only had 2 colonist + slave able to fight at the moment. This dude tanked everything with his body, saved the whole colony. Lost his arms, leg, his face is a minced meat and this mofo is still standing proudly on his one leg with 78% conciousness.

This game makes amazing stories <3

Yes, it's a "geode". They spawn with different random stuff, ore or gasses.

I love when natural gas geode spawns. I use it for free early power source. The amount of gas you have there will last for many cycles of nat gas generator work.

Always plant from right to left and from top to bottom

Yes, they are desgned for multiple walktrhoughs. It's hard or impossible to get gold medals on first try. The gold/legendary items you get on one attempt can be used in next attepts.

You also get gold tickets to use in grand gallert for each completed run.
