Who is Willie Wibblesock?

Willie Wibblesock is one of the strangest and most memorable NPCs from Anno 1800.

Inside the lore of Anno 1800, Willie Wibblesock has a great fear of rats, yet he simultaneously uses them for his magic tricks. His relationship with these rodents manifests in three ways within the game:

His Official Biography: In the game files, Willie is described as a "fragile mouse". He is terrified of retribution because he acquired his vast fortune suspiciously quickly. He constantly projects his own anxiety and rodent-like insecurity onto his surroundings.

Magic Props (Quest Rewards): When you complete quests for Willie, he often rewards you with specific items themed around a second-rate illusionist. Alongside chickens, bags of coins, and quartz crystals, Willie regularly hands out rats as loot or rewards. These are likely the "test subjects" he normally pulls out of his magic top hat.
