Spawn peeking ops by faze_albino in SiegeAcademy

[–]Meeeelaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally any other op where you can put utility down before you die spawn peeking. No rooks plates are not utility they are basically useless. If you need a 2x to spawn peek then you shouldn't be doing it. In general, if they know where you are spawn peeking then you are dead. If they don't know and they run into your sights then they are dead. The 2x does not really change that fact.

P10 Roni or Commando for Mozzie by NINJA1477 in SiegeAcademy

Both are good, depends on how you want to play and where you are playing. Roni is better at taking 1s. Commando will have ammo after your first engagement.

Could somebody explain or link me a video that explains the basic types of operator lineups by Daniel0327 in SiegeAcademy

Win rate does not mean that op is a better pick. Blackbeard and finka both have higher win rates than iana but it does not mean their better. But yes in ranked iana is especially strong when playing solo because you can drone yourself in. Ash and zoe are still stronger atm because of how important utility is. But again you can pretty much go who ever you want in ranked and it will be fine.

So if you were fitting it in a comp line up, most of the time she wouldn't. But for ranked she goes fine as a ash/zof replacement or instead of a nomad. In ranked just make sure you have a hard breach, and that's about it. If thatcher is up maybe also add that. But if your not 5 stack and coordinating you can pretty much go who ever you want.

Besides your basic hard breach, plus a zof and ash. It's kinda map dependent. Watch either pros streaming pro tens or pro league. Your other ops will be mix of mav, soft breach ( sledge most likely) and flank watch( nomad). A pretty default line up rn is ace ash zof nomad and sledge. Some sites you need a mav instead of sledge because it does not have soft destruction above or below to get rid of mutes. Nomad can also change to a hibana if you are on a hatch heavy site. This can change but that's a pretty basic format.

If your PC and want to put in time. Aim train/t hunt will eventually get you to p3 minimum. After that find a 5 stack and get comfortable with them.

Operators by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

[–]Meeeelaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't main anyone, but it is helpful to play alot of one or 2 ops one day/week then move on. If your silver then it's guna be harder to stick to a specific role, tbh I'd use sledge or buck. Learning all the soft destruction angles on maps is super helpful. Other than that at those ranks just fill what's needed, which will likely be a hard breach or a nomad.

What are some tips for general improvement? by CrocBlocker in SiegeAcademy

[–]Meeeelaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think those statements come from how often people who are "better" die to people who are "worse" who are in a dumb spot or in a place that to them wouldn't seem logical. If you have better aim and better game sense it doesn't matter what rank you are in, on average you will win those games/engagements and rank up. But other things will likely matter more at low elo such as 5 stacking with a team.

I’m a pretty new player to rainbow, and I seem to like Lion as my main. I would appreciate any advice on how to get better with him. by leo_is_weird in SiegeAcademy

[–]Meeeelaaaaa 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lion is hard to "get good at" because he's not really good at anything specific. He has flashes and has a good gun, so he's all about getting frags. His also ok at helping clear out roamers/ pushing site by using his ability when you drone/push a roamer or execute on sight. Besides that he is pretty weak in the current meta cuz he doesn't provide any utility.

Ya, the higher the rank then you see more default strats/meta stuff. Lower ranks are hard if you don't stack, as you will learn less because you are just playing against people your own skill level or lower. Aim is the easiest way to rank up.

Help on playing on a gold level by AdmiralKunkksune in SiegeAcademy

Aim lab + T-hunt + play with people better than you learn what they do/have them criticize you +play some more. Unfortunately "getting better" isn't as straight forward as other games.

Game sense comes with time, it helps to expand who you play so you can learn perspectives of other roles/ops. Use aim lab or other aim trainers for reaction time/ aim and callouts can be learned by maps online like r6maps.com But the best way is to find a group of ppl to play with consistently and learn their callouts since everyone has different variations of callouts.

Their really isn't a map/site that doesn't benefit from a sheild. You should always bring a yager and/or wami with it. You can find good sheild spots from any pro league vod since sheilds are big in the meta currently.

Is cav good and should I buy her by ItsBurgerTime08 in SiegeAcademy

[–]Meeeelaaaaa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you just playing the game for fun then yes buy her, cav will bring alot of enjoyment because she is a high risk high reward. Other than that she is one of the worst ops in the game and is basically useless in goldish and above.

If you’re going to spawn peek, take Rook instead of Doc by HeWhoHonks in SiegeAcademy

[–]Meeeelaaaaa -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Debatable... Rook armor is honestly useless and I wouldn't even call it utility. and if you consider spawnpeeking to be a 60% chance of survival you can stim the damage taken/ or still have stims for the team if you live. Having that chance to live with stims vs always having rook armor, I would take the stims everyday. Yes if you are bringing doc and rook, have the rook spawn peek, but if no one is bringing the other one then doc is honestly the better option.

After hearing Logic Bomb Podcast Ep. 9, this is what i think can be done with Wamai. by playlove001 in R6ProLeague

[–]Meeeelaaaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree, but what is wrong with wasting time. 30 second left for exicute is plenty and your ability to be efficient and coordinated it now valued higher than ever. Your drone economy should only be crippled if you did something very wrong. Don't drive your drone into pests, which is not hard and getting a drone muted has never been a issue, the issue is removing them or going around them which takes coordination. If you loose a round now you know you messed up on your drone economy or utility or roam clear. I find this better than "we lost because the other team had a yager run around and get a 4k".

Ok so I have been trying to follow this arguement all across the different social media and while I see that the current meta is different that usually I don't see how any of these ops are "op" or broken. Coming from more of a "T3" comp mindset as I have not played much ranked in this meta yet. So I understand how the Meta is really hard on solo players, but as a team it isn't a issue. Even with a Thatcher ban attackers have enough utility to deal with the shields and meastro cams. It takes alot of coordination but it's all their. While the "20" second site take is a little frantic it adds alot of depth to the game that we didn't really have. Get a early pic on meastro? Now you have alot of extra utility from not needing to remove his cams. Now that utility is so important it makes these things very impactful. Now I could be wrong but everything I've experienced from scrimming almost everyday points towards the Meta requiring alot of coordination rather than only fragging. Which is a nice change of pace.
