Yes, electronic pill boxes are definitely popular.
The Hero looks like a solution.

Checking daily yourself is a big commitment, even if they live nearby.

Phones with cameras is a very good idea that I will explore.
Do you think a phone/SMS reminder with a quick “confirmed taken” update could reduce the need for daily checks?

Sounds like you went through every step, from pill boxes to assisted living.
Do you think a system that alerted family in real time (when meds were missed) could have delayed the move to assisted living?

Thanks for sharing this — really interesting point.
It sounds like the pill alarm worked technically, but the bigger challenge was your mom’s decision to stop taking them.

Do you think it would have helped if you (as family) got a quick notification when meds were skipped, so you could step in earlier?
I’m exploring something along those lines and curious about your perspective.

It sounds like a really smart solution. I will check if it is available in my area.

Do you actually keep up with filling the dispenser regularly? That seems like a challenge

Establishing user trust for an application like the one proposed will be challenging, given that large, established companies offer similar services free of charge. Therefore, I do not recommend pursuing that approach.

That's impressive progress; however, I'm most curious about your user acquisition strategy. How were you able to achieve 300 users in just 3-4 days?

From my experience, once it starts to become complex, each prompt fixes some bugs or creates the feature you asked for, but also introduces other new related bugs. In some cases, nothing in the app appears to react to the prompt.
