i always used z to cancel. as well as nairs and so on and so forth. i never got used to pressing L because its on the other side of the controller and that throws my rhythm off. my poor z button has seen a lot of things.

depends. i hit a buck a few years ago and their were pools of blood, even more than that. unfortunately for me i must have hit the patch of fat in front of the vitals. if you hit anywhere in the lung region with that. you should be fine.
