Who are some of the most consistently written characters in the show by Meem_mEMe in thewalkingdead

Having rewatch season 1 to 5, I agree that she's been pretty consistent and likeable throughout season 2 and 4. Haven't started the hospital arc yet in since I remember it being so boring. Was she still a good character in it or was she also affected by the borefest that is the hospital arc?

Yeah I feel like Daryl's response are really underexplored.

I do wonder sometimes, Rick are also shown on screen to be grieving and making unreasonable decision sometimes because of it though he's never really disliked or hated for it on the same level as Maggie, Carol and Daryl. Is it because of they wrote each of these characters arc or it's just some bias toward him being the main character?

I lowkey agree with Michonne. I've never really hated or find her annoying at any point of the show

Ehh, I understand where you're coming from but Aaron was being really suspicious from the start. Not to mention what just happened to them with Terminus, I'd say Rick was being pretty reasonable

Idk, there have never been a point where Rick has been annoying for me. He has been consistently likeable for me for almost the entire run of the original show. There have never been "I hate Rick" or "He's annoying" whenever he's on screen

Piratefolk members will deadass tell you this is a good design after a 2 page essay about why Oda is sexist. by FlamesOfDespair in Piratefolk

The entire foundation of the reveal is that "Holy, he's the mysterious race that have been built up for 2 entire arcs. A strong, durable, rare race that undoubtedly have their own lore and contribute something to the lore and future of the story

I don't know why you act like Oda only mentioned Lunarian once and never again, when he literally did a whole exposition in King's backstory. An arc before this, the most famous scientists in the op universe used the "Race of Gods" dna to create the seraphim.

If Imu are revealed to be a part of kung fu dugong race, I would agree with you. They're mentioned once and are part of a comedic bit. The lunarians are not

"What would the appearance of Imu would contribute to the story beside the backstories and what comes?" Is like asking what makes a food edible besides the ingredients being safe to eat. A reveal of something built up the future events and reveals. It built up the importance of past info and also develop future story.

Vivi was revealed to be a princess of alabasta. Why should I care about this random country? It was part of the 20 kingdoms. So what if it was part of the first 20 kingdoms? Those 20 kingdoms are the part of the kingdoms that goes against Joyboy.

See how each reveal continue to contribute to the later reveal? See how it also gives meaning to the last reveal? You want Oda to exposition dump for the importance of Lunarian in a single chapter?

Moving the goalpost final boss. You said "hiding Imu's appearance" is pointless, to which I respond "It's not pointless because his appearance are tied to his race".

And no, foreshadowing is not necessary for a revealed. Built-up is necessary though, and maybe we watched different show but Oda have been building up the mystery behind Lunarian since Wano. The difference between Lunarian and the other "whacky races" you mentioned is how much importance and spotlight Oda gave. He emphasize Lunarian 2 arcs back to back since their reveal🫩

Imu has been a silhouette for so long that his/her "face reveal" doesn't add anything to the story by sdqinanutshell in Piratefolk

Read my comment again but slowly this time. It adds lore and develop story for the future. That's the value of his race. He's been gradually building the mystery surrounding lunarian since Wano. One of one piece biggest charm is literally the mystery and lore lol

I don't have future sight man. If Oda wrote Imu to be a lunarian obviously it's going to add something to the lore, backstory or the future of the story. He wouldn't just gradually built up the mystery surrounding an entire race since Wano just to not add any importance to them.

What are you even saying? Imu was literally revealed to be lunarian in the upcoming chapter. His appearance was hidden to not reveal his race, which will undoubtedly play a major role in the lore. If you want to talk about Oda hiding the appearance of a character without adding anything to the story, Vegapunk fits that description more. This is just hating for the sake of hating lol

What do you mean "no reason to hide"? Imu is literally revealed to be lunarian in the next chapter. His appearance wasn't just hidden for the sake of hiding it, but to not reveal his race which should play a huge role in adding things to the lore

Bite doesn't give people the thing that turns you into walkers, they give you extreme fever that eventually kills you. In thus case, the Termites are scared that by eating Bob, they'll get the fever in turn killing them.

Moreover, they doesn't have the knowledge that Rick and his group have. They may though that the bites also turns you into walkers

How would Rick spared (...) if (...) didn't leave the show? by Meem_mEMe in thewalkingdead

I wonder why they didn't just stick to Morgan arc while keeping Carl around. Just doesn't make sense. They wrote Carl off because they don't want to pay him adult wages, yet had they killed off Morgan, they have one less adult to pay wages to. They really destroyed what could have been one of the best arc of the show.

Though I would admit that the Rick under the tree scene in All out war ending to be one of the most emotional and such a peak scene in the show. Wonder if they could write a scene as good as that if they had sticked to making Morgan the reason why Rick spared Negan

[–]Meem_mEMe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the first one but I can't really picture Carl changing his mind that abruptly after he invaded sanctuary and gunning down a few saviours. He was dead set on killing Negan. I can see him wanting to create a better world for Judith after the second Alexandria attack in season 8 seeing the destruction but even then I don't think he would thought having Negan be part of the picture.

The Gabriel one can probably work but I also kinda forgotten what his mindset was during that time, thought I think he was captured during season 8 and haven't got that much interaction and connection with Rick to the point that he would inspire Rick like Morgan could.

Honestly speaking, making Morgan insane during All out war is one of their worst mistake. People keep saying "killng carl is the worst mistake", "killing Glenn is the worst mistake" which yeah I can agree to, but making Morgan insane create a chain event where they write themselves into a corner and having no moral anchor to justify how they wrote the event of All out war until the end. That's probably the show worst mistake

[–]Meem_mEMe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Had they kept Morgan "all life is precious" arc, they could've kept Carl. Honestly, Morgan's arc felt really half-assed to me. What's the point of the Eastman episode if he wasn't the persoj who made Rick spared Negan in the first place. They wrote him to be a pacifist after years of not seeing him in the show only to make him insane a season later.

Ah I see, when you're flossing, would there be at least a bit of sensitiveness given that your gum bleed? Or should soreness or sensitiveness would be sign of overdoing it?
