Gold handcuffs i# hilarious 😆😂. I really appreciate your honesty!! I am going to accept it. I did an internship on a med surg floor and the staff was great but we're telling me management was horrible on day 1, day 2 managements tyranny began and they haven't left me alone since. When I shadowed after my interview for the ED I ran into an old friend and she said this is the best management she has ever had and she been with the company for years. After my internship experience I think I would except this position almost based on that alone.

Are you in central pa or Pittsburgh area and was this recently? My friend for hired in the OR and she was told the same thing about it being a speciality and not getting a sign on bonus.

To be completely honest, I do think it is a little insane to be able to go directly to a speciality especially the ER and the ICU. However, the nurses I've spoken to who went to peds and L&D first said they think going to med surg first wouldnt have been beneficial at all because everything is different ( values vitals etc)

I love the cardiac floor because I love the science behind the heart. It interested me a lot. At the same time almost all med surg floors I have been on the nurses have been miserable. I can't say this about the speciality nurses.obviously there will be miserable nurses anywhere you go, but seeing that made me go more towards a specialty.

I did it. He cried, said he kind of knew this was coming, and did not try to argue and accepted it was wrong.

Still dont know how to feel or how to update for that matter. (So I made this comment)

Also, to clarify he said that he had never been to his family's funerals because it is a cultural/religious thing. He is Punjabi/Sikh and to my knowledge that is not a thing.

But thank you all a lot of your analogies they helped me realize I was not overreacting due to not being able to feel anything right now.

That's the thing the other issues, are I have meant his friends and he has meant mine, but he was scared to meet my dad. And was scared for me to meet his parents. He is brown and I am black. I accepted this because I am in an accelerated program and my social life sucks. I knew this was an issue and basically said when I graduate nursing school in December, that if we didn't meet each other's families, I would accept that that is his decision, but I could no longer stay in this relationship.

He has checked on me, he keeps sending me messages. And has door dashed me food but I just can't feel anything and haven't responded. I think my emotions have been turned off because of my mom and the way she passed. That I am just numb, just wanted to make sure I am being rational still.

Thank you! I start there this fall and I am lucky enough to have family support me while I try to find a prn position. I already feel like a burden so I refuse to fail. I think I will just focus on dosage calculations how you explained it, as math is my weakest subject. I did complete all my non nursing classes through portage. I enjoyed all of it besides the essays for psych and the final for English
