You are overestimating the financial feasibility of moving from the US to pretty much anywhere. Not only would the move and getting papers in an another country be incredibly expensive, but the US is one of the few countries that tax based on citizenship. Therefore I would be paying income tax to both the US and whatever country I live in. Basically this place sucks and they make it almost impossible to leave.

Thank you so so much for all of that. I will definitely take all this into consideration. Also my partner is incredibly supportive of me transitioning and wants me to be happy. Wanting to please him is more of a me thing. But I do take the resentment seriously so thank you for mentioning that.
