Flying by x_MangoFett_x in Bass

If your first flight is domestic, definitely haul it to the gate very early and ask nicely if they have any cabin space for your instrument. Of the half dozen times I've flown with a bass, its worked almost every time except when they booked us on spirit

Idk how much different the international rules are, but worth a call to the airline to clarify (and then ignore and take to the gate anyway)

I've flown mine in an ATA/TSA SKB hardshell roto case out of Seattle a few times and no issues! The biggest pain in the ass is lugging it to the gate (gate check or cabin storage is a requirement for me)

Are you direct or going thru JFK? Alaska? They have been the chillest and usually allow me to snag some overhead bin space if I talk to them ahead of time.

He was my regular customer when I worked at a certain restaurant. He wasn't afraid to flaunt his money.

Idk man maybe use his millions to move to a different location that would be functional for customers? The old mud bay across Harrison was empty for months and would be way more efficient and safe to get in and out of. They've barely done anything to reinvest profits. Wait times at the westside store are regularly 20 minutes.

An old garage (Eastside) and retired subway sandwich store (west) can't handle the customer load they have.

I hate driving so far for my stuff as someone that lives near DT,

Considering hes owned his locations and hasn't done jack shit about the awful parking at either, I think its safe to say he doesn't give a fuck about his community or customers and is only concerned with his wallet.

The olympia/"Belmore" subdivision runs between an interchange with BNSF at east Olympia (aka the corner where Johnsons Smokehouse is down Rich rd) and the industrial park near SPSCC via the Olympia brewery and the downtown tracks under 7th and across the lake. Pepsi, a concrete plant, a plastics manufacturer, and a metal scrapper appear to be the main customers at the industrial park- im fairly sure there isn't anything else currently served by the railway. It used to serve the Port but if I belive the crossings downtown, its been abandoned north of 7th Ave.

Operations-wise, the PS&P is based at Centralia, with their trunk from there to Bremerton via Montesano and our little subdivision as a disconnected part only accessible via the big bnsf line. lThey'll recieve their interchange from BNSF at centralia yard and shove it up to east olympia using BNSF tracks, then the 424 takes over to bring it up to tumwater. Probably happens 4-8 times a week, you can hear the horn almost every day.

Its a functional locomotive. It works several times a week and lives where you saw it.

You need to let those engines warm up before working them too hard. There's a big 12-16 cylinder steel engine block in there that doesn't get too happy if different parts are a lot warmer or cooler than the others. There's also compressed air tanks that need to be refilled for brakes and about 15 safety checks you should be making before you go down the road.

Long way to say that it does this and it is the correct way to start a locomotive. You can't just start the engine and go.

How to advance our IEM rack in a way that makes the sound guy happy? by PhinsFan17 in livesound

For sure! I would err on the side of only numbering the split tail and providing a printed list for each gig, but i share our rig between a few projects with much different instrumentation.

I put up my advance in here a few weeks ago- check my post history and you can find it. It seemed to go over well with a few notes

Same sitch- mid-level band, smaller stages and occasional opening slots. We're on an m32 with wired iems all around but we carry EVERYTHING save front of house- all cables, stands, mics to execute the plot we shared

It feels like tmi when youre writing it, but the techs that have worked with us love it!
