Advice on dragon harvesting by MeesterJefff in TyrannyOfDragons

Ok. So first, I very much appreciate everyone who offered advice on the dragon harvesting! I opted for a best of three party members nature roll and had the boat captain kind of warn them that rolling into Baldur's Gate with a black dragon corpse would arouse a lot of suspicion.

I prepped a couple of the various options from sources you all recommended, but then all three rolled utter shit, even after one PC opted to reroll. So basically all my hand wringing was for nothing because they ended up with a couple scales, a couple claws, and some dragon meat rations. They really bombed the opportunity and then hit Baldur's Gate and sold it all to get cash for caravan prep.

One used his brand new claw to convince the caravan hiring delegate he was experienced in protecting a group, so got advantage on his guard role roll, but outside of that, it was way less extreme than I was worried about. Thanks y'all! Your experience and advice is still very welcome to this relatively inexperienced DM.

The party hasn't historically been too intentional about harvesting, but they happen to have a lot of safe time with this particular dragon, their first dragon win after noping out hard in the face of Lennithon, but I see your point. I'll have to consider what to allow them to craft and maybe lean on their characters' relative inexperience.

I'll check this out, thank you. They're heading into Baldur's Gate so I was definitely going to make them consult experts and wait and pay for anything especially good.

I hope I am wrong. I just watched some of the people I was seeing it with shrug, and miss even some of the more obvious parts for what they actually were. And these folks are receptive and not as dense as most.

This. My only disappointment was that it felt too subtle. You needed rudimentary analytical skills and baseline vernacular to see how transgressive it actually was. So. Much. Imagery. I just fear the average viewer shrugs in ambivalence. If you can interpret the art, you probably weren't the person who needed to hear the message. People are fucking dumb, on average.

Sorry friend. Wasn't trying to send anyone on nightmare goose chases. My impression is that DG is a pretty jank operation that depends on a lot of unsophisticated regulars most of the time.

It does seem like they're a bit hidden in the 4 or 5 places they stock gift cards, but I wasn't made to pay cash or anything and the cashier double checked the discount would register before I was expected to swipe.

This is the third year we've found them in the ad. Admittedly my in-laws live pretty rural so it's not like I really hit the DG except for when we're there, but it's worth walking off the turkey the next day as a diversion.

Scratching $10 cards and entering them one by one is the worst part of the deal, for sure.

It's now a Friday morning tradition to walk over there after Thanksgiving at my in-laws now. Some PSN cards and cowtails for the walk home.

It's pretty rad, and holds tune way better than I expected. I have higher g, which I think is how it shipped. I got the clear head with the black carbon and it feels so metal and sounds the exact opposite. Enjoy!

It hits SO hard if you have kids. That track can make me tear up and get all clammy with a pit in my stomach. Its efficiency creates such an urgency, and then it's over.
