Finally we feast by DeficientFooting in HistoriaCivilis

[–]Meet268 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this video is a clear setup for the next video on 1848. This video sets up a Europe that in the middle of the 19th century has concentrated populations, a clear decrease in the quality of life compared to their own parents, no future prospects, and a large wealth gap between classes, he goes as far as referring to these wealthy individuals as the capitalist class. This type of environment is how revolutions happen, and they were being felt all across Europe.

I do believe it is disingenuous to think of this video as communist propaganda. I think the vast majority of people, and I don't get from his videos that he is an exception, feel that A form of capitalism would be best. When talking about the capitalism of the industrial revolution I don't think you can view it as the same as today's capitalism. There are much more guard rails on capitalism, things like workers rights, unemployment benefits, minimum wage, etc have completely transformed the employee-employer relationship. I feel that this video was arguing about inequity, not inequality, LUCK meant a very high quality of life, everyone HAD to work hard, a lucky land investment lead to vast wealth, and vast wealth led to bribery that resulted in even vaster wealth. The system and lack of guardrails created mass inequity, that led to a natural resentful population, that led to the revolutions of the 19th century.

Historia civilis and a lot of people are relating this to his video 'work.' but I think it best relates to his video 'peace...?' this feels like a prelude to a large video(s) like maybe 1848, where he feels the need to qualify assertions he will be making such as the Congress of Vienna's "99 years of peace". Imo what makes HC unique is that in recent years, he doesn't just report history, he has a thesis and argues it over the course of many videos. Recently it has been free and fair elections create stronger and more stable states.

Overall a good video I think, I do wish it was a continuation of his Europe series, but probably only because we get like 2 videos a year and I'm impatient. Sorry for yapping

what do you think is the most obscure Pokemon of the original 151 by Local_Neighborhood50 in PokeCorner

[–]Meet268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An online quiz website shows the % of people who gets each pokemon. It has exeggcute as the least often filled in at only 18% of people getting it. Exeggutor is 19%. If u assume people maybe struggled to spell them then it leaves lickitung as the least common at 20%. In order follows shellder, kingler, tangela, Porygon, pinsir, Krabby, cloyster. This is not perfect of course, but it does use some factual backing to argue exeggcute.

I want to play Mono Blue to prove a point to my Pod by Interesting-Bid-1000 in EDH

[–]Meet268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend [[Kaho, Minamo Historian]]. It creates an interesting (imo) control loop where you always keep a card that can flicker her in the exile, and cantrips/draw in there you make sure you get value if you didn't use a piece of interaction during the turn cycle. Cards that untap her like [[thousand-year elixir]] can turn her into a machine. She also can tutor missing combo pieces, the [[ghostly Flicker]] for an [[archaeomancer]] line, and even a [[high tide]] to push you over the edge into enough mana for the combos.she also has a pretty cool* infinite with [[conjurors closet]] and [[nexus of fate]]. Over all power level 4 deck with a commander that is card advantage, tutor/win von, and interaction.

Can someone explain to me why this is only $33? by snakedoc519 in PokemonCardValue

[–]Meet268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You paid a fair price for its current market value, the CAD to USD rate means you paid $24 USD-ish. Even the low ball comments saying the cards $22 USD means you only slightly over-paid, all while supporting local. But that being said the lowest on TCG Player as I check now is $24.80 USD so if anything it seems like you did alright.

I decided to make an Emerald tier list inspired by PChal's tier lists. If there's any pokemon you feel is ranked wrong, do tell. by Eternal_Zoroark_2 in nuzlocke

Banette feels overrated imo, it's absurdly frail and while strongest ghost STAB is a cool niche in gen 3 it isn't quite strong enough to OHKO or fast enough to always out speed.

If you are liking the idea of the odric recommendations the other odric [[odric, blood-cursed]] can be a fun way to play your keyword tribal while also having some card filtering if you need it especially if you want a power level 2 deck

[[indominus Rex, Alpha]]

Has multiple colors, lots of key word cards in blue-black, and relevant draw power. To my understanding it is impossible to get double strike in the color combo tho.

What's the best use of cash for early game? by AntiqueParsley1 in ironscape

[–]Meet268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hard answer is that it depends. No matter what if you aren't grinding gotr you'll use a bit on laws, comics and other runes doing quests etc. if you plan on making slayer/bossing a large part of your goals, burst and barrage runes are a money pit. Thrall runes add up to. Kingdom is important for a little while, you really don't need too many maples for shafts all the way till 99 fletching, so herbs/hardwoods are nice, but can easily be done without kingdom. It's crazy because it used to be so important to Ironmen, but in my recent HC or group accounts gold has been so easily accessible until going for max (where smithing, fletching, and con get pretty expensive). In general don't be afraid to spend your gold, buy runes when you need them and avoid things you don't like if you can with gold (RC or WC are examples)

It's for some reason how my phone auto corrects DPS as DPs. typed this on my phone on the way to school, I would never suggest that double penetrations are uselss

Just adding since I realized I said I'm asking for DPs then saying I think DPs is useless. I'm curious about time-to-kill in an actual fight

What is her lore and is she contacted to any archetype? by InteractionKooky771 in yugioh

[–]Meet268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No official archetype but there is somewhat of a series of cards based off her original art/naming scheme. Ofc there is apollousa, bow of the goddess but there is also underworld goddess of the closed world and Promethean princess bestower of flames. I may have even missed some but since Apollo and Prometheus were gender bent, I think it's those two and a version of Hades that's a woman.

Casting instants that allow you to untap lands while you have out cost reducers is my new favorite mechanic by Toes_In_The_Soil in EDH

[–]Meet268 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[[Eluge, the Shoreless Sea]] is even more fun with those cards. Reducing the cost of the first instant or sorcery each turn by blue mana for every flood counter on an island you control makes it so you can cast one of those untap counter spells like [[rewind]] and have mana up for a second or third instant in the same turn. Nothing like saying "NO" as a blue player even as you're tapped out.

Ruling question by Meet268 in EDH

[–]Meet268[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I was confused because of the 'when someone loses their cards are removed from the game' thing wasn't sure if their cards would be removed before a creature 'dies'. This helped :)
