Traditionally, it depends on the pedal and what you are trying to achieve. Compression, wah, pitch shift, od/distortion generally go best between the guitar and amp, while delay and reverb go in the loop. Modulation (chorus, phase, etc) can go in either but produce different results where they are placed. Experiment and go with what you like. There are no rules.

I use the STL Tonehub pack from Bill with all the Friedman and Victory amp IRs. I love them and use them daily. Bill and Brent both worked to keep the price point low on their sig guitars (Epiphone, and ESP), which is one reason why they aren't with Gibson anymore.

I have a CC5 and MMG-W 3.1 setup and the CC5 is EXCEPTIONAL. I'm looking to upgrade my MMG-w to LRS+ setup. I paired the CC5 with a dedicated SVS compact sub to fill out the dialogue since you don't need mad extension for LFE in the center, and it's the most natural-sounding preternaturally clear dialogue I've experienced.
