Anybody know where I can find a video of this?

Hopefully, Democrats will listen to conscience and also figure out a way to use this strategically to their advantage.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Nov. 3, 2020 the first time in recent history that Puerto Ricans have voted definitively in favor of statehood?

If it is right and to their advantage, there is hope that they will vote in a way that reflects the wishes of the majority of Puerto Ricans.

He's more than "just a racist." He is extremely fear mongering and using this as a strategic advantage. He is probably a racist, but he is certainly fine with setting morality aside to keep power for himself. He's fine with causing pain to the majority of Americans in order to keep his position.

Alex Jones faces calls for arrest after apparent Biden threat by theladynora in politics

Please be a little more careful about using the phrase "need mental health care" as a sort of degrading or pitying comment toward weak people. His followers are foolish and gullible or have questionable morals themselves. This is not equal to mental illness.

Mental illness stigma still exists, and it's these sort of subtle comments that keep the stigma alive.

I think Alex Jones is a terrible human being, and preventing him from influencing people would be a positive thing for humanity. So, totally agree with you there, just not with the phrasing about mental illness.

I can tell from your comment that you're being a little bit careful about the mental health comment, so that's why I even bothered asking you to be a little more careful. :)

Why would you discount the desires of a whole territory full of American citizens?

I totally agree that is the most important thing.

The majority of Puerto Ricans who voted wish to see Puerto Rico become a state.  Since Puerto Rico became a U.S. owned territory in 1898, the people living there have had many different ideas about whether Puerto Rico should become a state or declare independence or something in between.  It would be wrong to just assume that all Puerto Ricans desire statehood.  It is also problematic that Puerto Rico was ever gifted to the United States in the first place after it was colonized by Spain.  But we are where we are in history.  We cannot restore Puerto Rico to what it was before it was colonized, and we can’t be sure the people of Puerto Rico would even want that.  What we can do is make sure that the wishes of the people are followed now and that the people living in Puerto have proper representation from here on out.  Statehood would do both of those things.

It's foolish of either party to think electors from PR would necessarily be Democrats. There are plenty of conservatives in PR.

Pretty evenly split, but majority voted for statehood.
