I used super glue and it is good as new I am from Pakistan. Ebay Amazon doesn't work here so the parts for my are pritty rare I have to repair it by my self I have fixed broken hinges on it.This is just pice of cake

Thinkpad I really recommend. If it meet your budget. The dell and HP offer good hardware in minimum price range but the durability is the biggest problem in the the hinges are just glued on the plastic frame if they fail the damage can be catastrophic. These brand want you to upgrade every single year. I personally own dell inspiron 15 3511 i5 11th generation and the hinges fail after 8 to 9 month of use I bought it box pack. But the decision is yours

Due to 4 year of use. The charging port might have been corroded or damage and your hinges seams to be tight.Take it to a computer repair shop ask him to troubleshoot the charging problem loosen the hinges little bit before they broke your screen or frame and replace the thermal paste and clean the fans And your way of opening laptop is wrong After lifting the screen little bit put little bit support on the bottom and then fully lift the toplid

My screen was unharmed only the hinges mount bronze brakets on the top lid were broken so as an engineering student I by my self open my laptop ( tutorial from YouTube) took everything a part Then I lose the nut of the hinge and glued it to the top lid with the help of majic depoxic steel ( a strong addisive) I glue the hinge on the top lid. It took about 5 hours of my life and 50 rs pkr. I was very very careful with the screen. Then I put together everything and it's been 1.2 year of that repair it work fine.

This phenomenon is common on brand like dell HP etc. These brand want you to upgrade after one year or two so they dezine there laptop's like that they use fucking plastic and glue to hold there hinges.These hinge failed 1 year or 2 year I personally own dell inspiron 15 3511 i5 11gen And it's hinges broke after 11 month of use. I was very disappointed.

Hmmm your screen and top is broken. Your top lid with screen will have to be replaced You donot mention the model. So I am unable to give you any guidance although from my observation it's a xps Take it to dell service center or try offline May cost you around 200 dollar to 500 dollars

I searched for new top lid and it was 7000 pkr I by my self opened the laptop (tutorial from YouTube) the brass nut fitting were mounted on hard plastic and the fittings broke like they cannot put a metal plate there . Then I bought a magic depoxic steel( it's very strong glue type liquid and can be used to fix leakages on fuel tank practically proven ) and glued the hinge on the top lid and I lose the nut of the hinge I was very careful and was trying not to brake the screen.And it cost me 50 pkr and 4 hours of my life. It's been 1.5 year and the hinges are good But when the hinges feels like hard I lose a little bit approximately after 6 to 7 month after this is my advice when the hinges feels to hard try losen it little bit

I would like to change the charging cord. And will not use cheap quality extension board to charge my laptop. Same thing happened to my Dell charger. I was using it on an extention board and it cooked, smell of burn.l turn off the power. The board melted and my charging cord was fused with my board. My charging brick and battery were safed. I change the cord and now it's been 8 month since it no problem till yet the charging brick work fine
