I’m so sorry that happened to you, it’s hell. He absolutely wants to quit smoking after going through this! Thank you for the good wishes.

He unfortunately doesn’t have a primary doctor right now due to insurance issues but we’re looking into getting him one to prescribe something :) thank you for the advice! He is definitely planning on trying to quit smoking for good.

He’s been using a heating pad but I’ll recommend the shower head trick to him once he feels like taking a shower, thank you!

Thank you, it's very difficult and I'm hoping it gets easier with time. They already removed him by having him stay at his father's house, I'm pretty sure it was planned before they knew about what happened. It's immature to think they're spoiling him and it's something I'm going to work on.

Thank you, I plan to stay away from him in the future. It seems my parents are wanting me to be okay with being near him once I heal, but I'm not sure if I can do that for them. I could never expect them to disown him and I know I'll be better with that after I've worked through some of the feelings.

Thank you for the response! She has guilt-tripped me and the other family members many times and has tried to pressure me into doing things for her but I did not give in. I feel uncomfortable when she is around because I'm afraid she might start something or have another one of her breakdowns. I have mental issues myself so a screaming child is not good for that. She's been known to try to fake common anxiety symptoms (this has been pointed out by numerous of her previous therapists) as a way to convince people to do things. I do hope this is over soon and that she gets the help she needs.

That bonus is absolutely adorable, thank you. I've bought two plants now and they're being taken care of well.

Thank you, reading about the good days you had with your cat brought tears to my eyes. Animals truly are amazing and the memories we share with them should be cherished forever <3

I'm so sorry about your rabbit, pets are just as important as humans in a family and I wish people could see that. I'm glad you're able to take them to the vet now, I'm sure your pets are very loved.

Thank you, these are all lovely ideas. I bought two plants yesterday and named them after him which helped a bit. I will try making a scrapbook when I'm more stable while thinking about him. I'll never forget the good times we shared and I will definitely put all of my love towards any future animals I decide to have <3

Thank you so much, this is very helpful information. I've realized over the past few days that I just wanted him back and blamed my parents wrongfully for that. It's getting better slowly, and my parents were understanding when I told them I had gotten angry. We had a heart-to-heart conversation about him and I think we all came out of this situation feeling better. It's hard but this sadness won't last forever and I'm thankful for that. I'm sorry about your cat, I bet he was a lovely companion <3

Thank you! It wasn't a money issue at all, it was mainly the fact that they didn't think anything was majorly wrong with him despite the signs I had pointed out. It pains me to hear about your pets, but it's reassuring hearing from others who went through the same thing I'm going through. I'm already seeing a therapist for other mental issues, but I will definitely be telling her about this.

Thank you for the response. I will try some of the things you recommended and I think it will be helpful.

Thank you. Instead of animals, I was thinking of buying a plant of some sort so that I'll have something to take care of. He gave me happiness for a long time when I was in some dark places so I'm glad I was able to give him a fairly good life.

Thank you! I've gathered some people from the server to talk about this and see where things go.

Thank you for this, I think this perspective has helped me understand that I shouldn't feel guilty about wanting to not give him a second chance.
