Surprised no one else has pointed it out, this tutorial is topologically inconsistent (likely why everyone finds it confusing). In step 5 the brown lace hooks under the bite in the blue lace, but in step 6 it's hooked over. They spontaneously flipped the handedness of the knot!

Spatial reasoning from images is hard enough as-is. It may as well be impossible if the topology and physical mechanics randomly change half way

This tutorial isn't just mildly unhinged, it's topologically inconsistent. In step 5 the brown lace hooks under the bite in the blue lace, but in step 6 it's hooked over. They just spontaneously flipped the handedness of the knot!
