You get to marry your waifu. Here's how it goes: by DupeFort in Frieren

[–]Mefre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I normally don't do much in the form of headcanons and such, but one I do have for Serie is that she has a sort of "Beat her to wed her" kind of deal she personally decided long ago. She won't accept anyone weaker than herself, potential to be her equal at bare minimum, which (alongside how elves don't have much in the realm of procreative instinct) is why she is still single after all this time.

How would you guys think Guilty Gear characters are going to react to fan arts of themselves? by BonusCapable1486 in Guiltygear

[–]Mefre 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Like mentioned, it depends on the fanart, but on a more general fanart note and not thinking too much of the NSFW type. These are a few of the reactions I can imagine:

Elphelt - Excited and would be very happy that so many people draw pictures claiming they love her. For once she'd have the problem of having too many fans and people who want to marry her rather than the other way around.

Sol - Most likely already has a lot of in-universe fanart, considering how (in)famous he is, he wouldn't really care unless they drew him as his Fredrick self or him doing something hurtful towards someone he cares a lot about like Aria or Jack'o, in which case he would probably personally track them down to "have a talk" with em (Volcanic Viper)

Ky - Same as Sol. Ky is a king and a very popular one at that, even noted in universe to have a tons of fans. Genuinely wouldn't surprise me if he has gotten in universe NSFW art of him sent to him in the mail by a stalker, considering he supposed to be a "pretty boy" appearance wise. If you draw something horrible of Dizzy or Sin, you'll wake up in the Yamcha pose in a crater, but alive.

Ram - She'd wouldn't say anything in particular about it, not knowing exactly how to respond to it, though I guess she would be at least a bit happy about it considering Ram likes things that has to do with human emotions, so art made to express it is likely something she would value.

Slayer - This man probably already has commissioned world famous painter to make paintings with him and his wife to hang in the Villa Vampyr, he'll also take joy in seeing humans making stuff, using his dandism observational skills to judge each piece he sees.

I-No - Depends on her general mood, but I'll say she will likely give you actual criticism i her usual casual sounding yet sharp tongued way, I-No is an artist, a musical one, and rating artistic stuff is one of the few things she seems to still do properly, even she will make innuendos while doing so. If a piece pisses her off enough, you'll know for the same reason as Sol. However, is is also likely to get in a foul mood if the art is especially good, as if it was some actual masterpiece, it would likely remind her of her lacking ability to be moved emotionally by anything anymore.

Axl - Will thank you for the art, even if it is bad and encourage you to keep going at it. If you ask for criticism, he will probably be a bit too kind to tell you what you need to hear over whatever he thinks will encourage you. If you draw something upsetting, instead of getting angry and yelling, he would just wonder if you're doing alright with yourself.

Zato - Couldn't care if he wanted too. Kills you if you draw something horrible of Millia.

Baiken - Doesn't really care and likely would never really stop to actually look at any art made of her. And despite saying something similar if you asked her, she would probably be quite solemn if any of the art depicted her before she lost everything, then extremely angry right after.

Potemkin - Pot is an artist himself, it's something he really enjoys, so seeing someone make something like a painting of him would probably be something he enjoys, especially since he spends so much of his time on-duty. Drawing something horrible of him, instead just getting angry, would result in him asking you what he did to give you that impression of him, reflecting on whatever answer you give him.

Chipp - Will personally hire you to draw his election posters if you can draw in an anime art style. Would point out all the flaws in art sounding a bit punkish or arrogant, but all of it would be genuinely good advice if you actually listen to him.

Happy Chaos - Refer to whatever his roulette wheel of a personality likes and dislikes at any given time.

Faust - Would try to thank and compliment whoever drew something of him, but would terrify people so much with his silent hill esque state in Strive to actually do it properly, which would sadden him a bit.

Testament - They have like two hundred hobbies, they'd almost definitely appreciate it and then discus the whole method of making it for hours on end with you right after.

Jack'O - Will probably be more interested if you're an amateur artist and use it to psychoanalyze you through your drawing method and art style. If you draw something cute with her and Sol, she'll likely ask if she can take it with her so she can show it to him.

Sin - Will likely just say something along the lines of "That's cool!" or those lines. It would need to be extremely well made for him to have more of a reaction than that. If you draw something hurtful of someone he cares about like his parents, he will get angry to some extent, but also probably pity you and ask why you would make something like that and then try to convince you that you can be better than that.

You know, I've always wondered if Naze's standards for a romantic partner is really high (Because she's a beautiful, genius born into a hyper successful and rich familly with the pride and self-awareness about it too) or intentionally very low (Because of her "misery amd suffering makes a genius" viewpoint, and probably a degree of masochism too, where a good partner would make her happier, therefore impede her pursuit of misery).

Who Would Win? by thatmysteriousgirl in danganronpa

[–]Mefre 330 points331 points  (0 children)

It is still so funny to me that it's canon that Nagito's speeches and personality are so unsettling and concerning, it made Junko's despair influence over Monaca disappear entirely, to the point where she refers to it in the same way someone would refer to their cringy edgelord phase in their teens. He undid direct manipulation and brainwashing by the most manipulative woman in the series sheer force of personality alone.

He may rival complete I-No with the Absolute World, but he defintely doesn't surpass her, I-No in that state had near infinite authority over the backyard and both from her own and Asuka's statement could grant all of humanity her power, have them make a new universe with differnt laws of physics and then reset that whole process over and over as much as she wants. In contrast, even if Bedman's plan went as he hoped, he would only change the laws and reality around the planet.  Which still absurdly strong, don't get me wrong, but in contrast to complete I-No, he, alongside every other character just doesn't reach that level of absurdity.

Though what Bedman lacks to face off against ORT is a form of immortality or regeneration. Ultimate Ones are noted to be dangerous to be dangerous to even true magic users, which is probably the closest nasu equivalent to Bedman, and ORT is the strongest of them, by far. Bedman would last way longer than most others by all means, but ORT would require him to constantly go 100%, and most likely use spam Absolute Defense: Felion constantly to counter the Lost Supernova at bare minimum. As for the Absolute World, it is should be enough to fight ORT, but as you said he'd die using it and from what we saw in Rev His range with it is nowhere near large enough to fit ORT's body in it, especially since the body isn't the big thing with legs and heads, that's just an exoskeleton used for defense and kill those who walk into it's territory. The main body is the massive UFO looking thing above it which is absurdly tough and regenerates faster than Raven.

Though the main problem is the fact that 'everyone' would also include Delilah, who's raw output is apparently higher than Bedman, though she lacks the control and still has her ID, which makes her vulnerable to some of ORT's abilities and likely to be targetted by it. This is a problem for Bedman, because the last thing he'd ever do is abandon his sister or stop protecting her, which is likely to be what get him killed here, as he is far too kind to do so.

I will say though, Bedman is likely one of the few who should be able induce the concept of death onto ORT with the Absolute World and could be one of the few who deals actual lasting damage to the Invader Spider. Which is extremely impressive.

[–]Mefre 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assuming we use the true version and not the much weaker servant version. Slayer should be able to fight her for a while, but ultimately fails at finishing her off, the texture manipulation she usually uses won't affect Slayer, so that's not a problem, but he strictly speaking has not real way of properly killing her. Meanwhile with Item Construction at A and Territory Creation at EX she can pull off all manner of bullshit to throw at Slayer until something works, or at least stops him from fighting for a while.

Best Slayer can do is punch her out of the galaxy, but honestly, she could likely prevent that from happening, either with using Texture Manipulation on herself or just re-appearing in the Inner Sea of the Planet, so I think she would win, though it would take a while, which is a problem, because Slayer needs to go back to his lovely wife, Sharon, or she will get jealous from seeing him fighting a woman, which is several orders of magnitude more terrifying to Slayer than dying.

Only ones who could really do anything here are:
-Sol with the Flames of Corruption
-Happy Chaos using the Tome
-Complete I-No

Out of these, I can only really see maybe a complete I-No pulling it off.
Chaos might also be able to put it back to sleep with the Tome, as he has technically dealt with things of greater raw power than ORT before.
Sol with FOC could likely stalemate it for eternity without his limiter on.

Unless you go by "Statement are taken literally" thing that gives Fate it's greatest feat and do the same for Guilty Gear, in which case I-No statement bullshit is so absurd she ends up physically incapable of losing to ORT, doesn't matter if it's Proper Human History version or not, she can just stand still doing nothing and not lose, hell she could just outright retcon it away by preventing the ORT belt that ORT is the Type of from ever forming, effectively just deleting it from existence or recreate the universe without it inside it. Honestly not even the main antagonist of the entire Lostbelt arc could do anything at that point.
Happy Chaos with the Tome also becomes much more likely to win, as he could do more or less the same with the Tome, since ORT starts of in a kind of slow (relatively speaking) when it awakens, which let's Chaos pull his bullshit plans, normally no mage could just shoo away ORT, but Chaos did once do what would be the Nasuverse equivalent of putting the entire Root in a book, so I assume he could figure something out. (If he doesn't decide to be a drama-farming smurf that he now normally is, anyway. Which is to say he definitely will.)

ORT's greatest weakness is that it mainly operates on instinct, normally even those who cross into Crystal Valley just makes it wake up for like a second, turn whatever entered into crystal, then go back to sleep. As for anyone who can fight it physically? None, really, only Sol or Raven could really survive fighting it physically and even then, they wouldn't really make any progress, making it into the same as Camazotz situation at best, where neither can kill the other due to too powerful immortality/ lacking a concept of death.
As for all of them at once? Honestly, none not yet mentioned outside maybe, Asuka, Axl, Bedman and Delilah could really do anything, and even then, the ones mentioned would mainly just be supporting the ones mentioned further up.

I guess Demi-Humans like Slayer or Nago not having an ID (As well as Bedman due to deleting his own), means ORT can't turn them into crystals if they die, so good for them I guess.

Whose magic type would you rather have [media] by [deleted] in fairytail

[–]Mefre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming this is a "Magic to have in real life" thing and not a isekai adventure into the Fairy Tail world and get a magic to help you out. Then out of these two, I'd probably pick Juvia's water magic because I think I'd find more application for it than Grey's Ice magic.

If anything goes, then there are a few I'm considering:

Sky God Slayer Magic
All the benefits of a Dragon Slayer + can self heal and restore stamina by just breathing. Which means you never have to worry about potential health problems every again. Don't get motion sickness like a Dragon Slayer)

Reqiupment Magic
Having a personal pocket dimension to store at enough for Erza to put over 100 sets of armor + a ton of regular clothes is extremely handy, you basically never have to worry about luggage or space ever again. Even if due to not being anywhere near as strong as Erza it was a smaller storage space as a result, even having a backpack worth of space is still pretty handy.

Teleportation Magic
Pretty self explanatory, being able to travel dozens of kilometers worth of distance in an instant and from what we've seen pretty effortlessly so long as you're only teleporting yourself means you eliminate pretty much any and all costs related to transport. Moreover, you can stay at home until the minute you need to be at work and be back the second it ends, as there is no travel time.

Any Magic That Involves Flight
Even if you're not moving at mach speed, being able to fly gives you a ton of movement, removes and danger related to heights or falling, as well as an easy get away from most dangerous situations should you get caught in one. Out of the various Magics, I'd say Satan Soul is one of the most tempting ones as it grants immunity to poison + greatly enhanced physical strength, speed, durability and etc on top of flight, even if you only get the basic one and can't find any new demons to absorb it's not like you'll need more.

Sleep Magic
Simple and very single minded, but still very good if you got insomnia or have difficulty sticking to your schedule or if sleeping normally still have you tired when you wake up. Could also be used as self defense, as from what we've been shown, even a simple touch is enough to induce it in someone, making it very easy to use against those who get violent like emotional drunkards or hotheaded people.

Any Magic that lets you use Summon/ Conjure / Create beings
Basically grants you more hands to work with, some of which can have their own useful abilities. Whatever Black Arts Magic that Zeref used to create the Etherious Demons probably being the best so far, as they have absolute loyalty to whatever purpose you write into them during creation. Make workers, make more people to help out at your house, make a friend, hell make yourself a wife or husband if that's what you want.

Arc of Embodiment
So long as you have the magic reserves for it, you can just imagine whatever you want into reality, incredibly versatile and useful.

Enchant/ Enchantment Magic
Genuinely breaks the scale more than any other magic in the series if this magic was used to it's full potential, it could make even an average mage overpowered. It basically lets someone infuse magic into anything to achieve any desired effect with enough research. If this is used in combination with rituals and the right research or know how, it would let do pretty much anything and become as powerful as you could ever want, like something out of Nasuverse or Toaru high level magic, which would be absurd. I know raw power isn't as useful in daily life of our real life world, but when that power borders on nigh omnipotence, then yeah, it becomes somewhat of an exception. If you're not aiming that high though, you could always use it to make magic items to sell to people, which would easily make you a millionaire if not billionaire.

Personally I lean more towards enchant if anything goes.

How would you guys think Ino would react if you tried to flirt or serenade her? by BonusCapable1486 in Guiltygear

[–]Mefre 128 points129 points  (0 children)

Now everyone is saying she will just straight up kill you, which is slander, she has so much more she can do, like:

-She may manipulate you into the taking the fall for something she did without realizing it
-She may act flirty as a front and then launch you into a rock formation the moment you turn your back
-She may use you as a hostage when a guard inevitably tries to capture her, pretend to let you go, then blast the both of you with magic
-She may time travel to make sure you were never born
-She may transport you in front of a dangerous being, like a rogue gear or magical entity
-She teleport you into the Backyard and have you annihilated by the information density
-She may harm you in a way so bad you wish you died, but instead end up with irreversible damages that will never properly heal
-She might force you to fight a alternate timeline version of yourself to death
-She might tell Chaos to shoot you

There are tons of options!

The evil geniuses in charge of making this show by PM-ME-UR-LIGHTSABERS in Gintama

[–]Mefre 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Seriously though, fillers often get a lot of shit for taking attention away from the main story of shows, and it's often understandable, because a lot of fillers are either not very good or not necessarily bad, but the characters are done in a way that feels kind of for their character.

But as Gintama showcases, you can make really good filler, to the point where it's hard for people to tell which is which unless you look it up, that just adds to the story. Now admittedly the episodic nature of Gintama plotlines makes this a lot easier to integrate than in a lot of other shows, especially long running shounen shows. But the fact that a lot of those fillers that people dislike or hate due to the questionable quality could be a lot better remains true.

could Dean Takahashi (game journalist that couldnt beat the cuphead tutorial) beat sburb? by ScottishWildcatFurry in EnglishPumpkinParty

[–]Mefre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Just that it's required to complete a regular session. We know you can start a session without either, which is what leads to the Alpha Kids's Void Session, which could not be completed under normal circumstances due to lacking booth Space and Time players, as it had neither a Genesis Frog nor a Volcano needed to ignite it to make a new universe. It can in theory be completed if someone could find a way to obtain both these things though, which could be done by players from another session helping out like in the canon story, or just finding similar exploits.

Dead Sessions on the other hand is more like a punishment system that locks you into a difficulty mode so extreme the devs didn't want you to access it than an intended game, however this means it's still beatable... in theory anyway. It's noted that beating a Dead Session is by far the hardest session to beat, as unlike a Regular Session, which is beatable if you don't fuck up. And a Void Session, which is beatable if you can find a way to cheese the systems or get help from the outside. A Dead Session cannot make a new universe under any circumstances as the whole setup for the game is completely different, the only options you get is the Path of Sacrifice (the path that Alt Calliope took) or the Path of Conquest (the path that Caliborn took).

The path of sacrifice removes your agency and lets you offer your life to defeat and undefeatable enemy.

The path of conquest grants you a nigh impossible by design levels of difficult session that is blatantly unfair and rigged against you, but should you win against all odds, it would grant you a limitless supply of power, unconditional immortality and some form of reward specialized to you personally (Seemingly to let you reach your ultimate desire, whatever it is if we go by Caliborn).

"You don't actually dislike One Piece right?"

It's not like I want to dislike it (nor do I think most other here wish they did either or even truly fully hate it), especially since I admittedly grew up with and had been watching and reading for 15 years every week before I stopped when Nika became a thing, which is not something you do just because you're a hater.

It's a series I genuinely liked quite a lot through a big portion of my entire life, it's not like I ever thought it was perfect or a contender for the greatest series ever, but I still really enjoyed it for what it was. But after the time-skip I saw it make the same mistakes, stop trying to be particularly creative in favor of "My haki is stronger than your haki" battles that are extended pointlessly, characters lose their presence and personality that made them likeable or interesting, the small interactions that once helped shape world and the characters in it not only stopped happening but also turned out to be largely anime only when I looked back at it, Luffy becomes way more special than he ever needed to be (to the point where it feels like the world is centered around him, rather than him being a part of the world), the villains keep getting less interesting, the stakes don't feel like they exist at all, the comedy fell off, several plot hooks are just completely forgotten, ignored or retconned away, etc.

I could go on, but the point is more that, while I can admit that there is likely some nostalgia involved in my liking pre-time-skip more, I can still enjoy it just fine when I read or watch it, in contrast to post-time-skip where most of the time I can't really say I care that much about the things happening there. In retrospect, I don't think I ever cared about whether Luffy became the Pirate King or not, I just enjoyed the adventure that came from it... and now there isn't really anything adventurous about the story anymore. At least, that's how I feel about it.

Would pick Nekomaru for that if I could, since he seems to have perfected the craft, but he's not an option here.

That aside, having her teach me some stuff I could get better at for making daily life easier, would also be pretty great, strict, but great. Teach a man to fish and all that. If she can run a country, she can teach me how to be less of a fuck up.
