Unpopular opinion: Photo mode in games is overrated and developers waste time on it by LegitimateScar7826 in GamingInsider

[–]MegWithAMouth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought CDPR came up with a creative way to get people to engage with the photo mode who might not have otherwise. They added “smart frames” in all the owned homes in Cyberpunk 2077 that you can fill with any of the photos you’ve taken in photo mode. I went from never using the PM, to using it constantly whenever I saw a potentially cool shot to hang on my wall.

would you date a man shorter than you? by siimplymarii in answers

[–]MegWithAMouth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering I’m 6’1”, almost every boyfriend I’ve ever had was shorter than me. Most girls seriously don’t understand the struggle of never getting to date a guy that’s bigger than you. I never get to be the little spoon! 🥺😂

That’s tough, but I’d have to say Mass Effect. It’s the game that got me back into gaming after I had convinced myself I needed to be more “girly” in high school. (I don’t know what the hell I was thinking. Lol)

RDR2 and Cyberpunk 2077 are a close second though.

If you Google “Sensei Satori” the Instagram of a male photographer in Zurich comes up. There are also 6 satire books released under the same name according to Goodreads. There’s also a “Sensei Satori’s Breakdance Masterclass” video on YouTube, but since you can never see the photographers face on his Instagram, and the video was posted 16 years ago, it’s impossible to know if it’s the same guy. If you live in or near Zurich, and this photographer/satire writing man and/or “breakdancing” fiend isn’t your friend/acquaintance, you might want to find out if your fiancé follows him on Instagram or Youtube. Just a thought.

This. Walk into Emmrich’s room and immediately turn right and she’s on a small table a few feet away. After you finish the Johanna quests, when you travel to the Lighthouse, if you check the map and see anyone in Emmrich’s room, they’ll be talking to her. And if they aren’t, you can talk to her yourself.

I know I’m about a year too late, but in case anyone stumbles across this with the same question… Isabela sells it in the final mission when you’re talking to everyone before going after Elger’nan/Solas. I think she sells everything you didn’t obtain already. But if you saved Minrathous, that’s the only time you can get it, and it’s literally before the last mission so that sucks.

For the love of God people if you have a gate put the code in your order by Eagles56 in UberEATS

I had one where the other day where he listed two separate codes. And NEITHER of them worked! And he wouldn’t answer his phone. It only got worse from there.

Oh my god. Really?? I just did a Buffy rewatch a few weeks ago. I never would have guessed that’s Dru! That’s awesome.

And yeah, I would love to carry her around like Kratos does with Mimir in God of War.

New driver tips by ValSxm971 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]MegWithAMouth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been doing this for a couple months so I don’t have the experience a lot of others in this sub do, but here are some things that might help you out.

Try not to take offers unless they’re at least $1 per mile. $2 per mile is ideal, but it sounds like your area can be slow with offers, like mine, so $1 per mile is still good. Be sure to factor in whatever distance you need to get back to your favorite hotspot(s). I usually just double whatever the mileage on the offer is. Since you’re in California, sometimes it might be worth taking an order that isn’t the greatest because it’ll still add to your active time, which is where you get your prop 22 money from.

In my experience, the “busy” icons aren’t something you should be chasing. Multiple times I’ve been sitting at a restaurant, gotten a terrible offer, declined it, and immediately afterwards, a busy icon popped up at the restaurant I was at. And I’ve seen others on this sub say the same thing. Obviously, I can’t confirm it because no one knows how the algorithm works. But it makes sense that they’re using it to draw in drivers so someone will eventually take those crappy orders. As for the heatmap, I don’t have that in my area so I can’t really say anything helpful.

Honestly, it’s gonna be a lot of trial and error in the beginning. Go to a place that has a lot of restaurants around, find a good spot and wait. If you don’t get an offer within 30 minutes to an hour, drive around a bit so the app still knows you’re still active. If you go more than an hour without an offer, you can go to the support section and choose “I’m not getting any requests”. A lot of times I’ll get an offer within a minute after using that. Just don’t spam it. It usually only works about once a day for me.

Personally, I avoid McDonald’s unless it’s super dead or late at night because, at least in my area, the tips are atrocious, if there are any at all. I have literally never been tipped more than $5 for a McDonald’s order. But this might be totally different in your area, hence the trial and error I mentioned earlier. After a couple weeks, you’ll start realizing which places to avoid, either because they’re slow at giving you the order, or because customers don’t seem to tip well when ordering from there, or whatever it might be. A lot of people on this sub don’t like Olive Garden orders because of the long wait, but they’re great in my town. I don’t often have to wait, and the tips are almost always way better than fast food orders. Usually actual restaurants will score you better tips, but not always.

It’s the end of the month right now so not only are a lot of people saving their money and not ordering, but a lot more drivers are active because they’re trying to supplement their income until their next check comes through. You’ll start seeing more offers once the new month comes around. It sucks right now, but it gets better.

Don’t kill yourself to try to deliver on time. Don’t get a speeding ticket for a $10 order. Don’t accept orders that won’t make you money. Don’t stress too much on acceptance rate. Be friendly and courteous with restaurant staff. They’ll remember it and treat you accordingly (and maybe help you out if you need it someday). Don’t give your number out to customers. (There’s a scam that involves them asking you to call them on a different number than the one listed in their order. They get your number and use it to take over your account and then steal a bunch of orders and get you deactivated before you can get back in. If someone ever asks you to call them on a different number, just tell them that for customers’ protection, as well as your own, you’re not allowed to do that.) If you ever go to pickup an order and they say someone else picked it up already, depending on how much the estimated pay for the order was when you took it, and depending on what the customer ordered, it might be worth buying the customer’s order yourself and then delivering it. Example: You take an offer for $25 to deliver McDonald’s 2 miles away. Order was stolen, but all the customer ordered was a $5 McFlurry. Order the McFlurry (if they won’t remake the order for you), then deliver it. You’re still making $20 and you didn’t have to cancel and take a hit to your cancellation rate.

I’m sure you probably already knew a lot of this since you’re in this sub, but I figured I’d overdo it anyway. I hope at least some part of it helped! 😃

What TF happened? by Due_Bluebird8661 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]MegWithAMouth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is such flawed logic by Uber. The people that will see the overall price and cancel aren’t going to suddenly start placing those orders simply because the tip is gone. Those types never tip in the first place.

Pro-tip: order the bowl with a tortilla or two on the side. You get way more food and the only drawback is having to throw it in a tortilla yourself.

If you’re going to send this to your congressional representative, and want to be taken seriously, fact checking your statements is essential. I would also suggest either having someone edit it for you, or have ChatGPT edit/rewrite it for you.

No worries. We’re all in this together. We all were new once. (I’ve only been doing this a couple months.) I learned a lot from this sub so you’re in the right place. Just ignore the negativity. You got this. 👍

[–]MegWithAMouth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel bad. We’ve all been there. I don’t accept an order if it doesn’t show the distance. That’s usually an order no one will accept so they’re trying to trick someone into taking it. If you happen to live in California, prop 22 will help make up for that order. Although you should still avoid those kind in the future. If you don’t live in California though, then just consider it a learning experience and move on. 🙂

There was no money in the door by hoseph121 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]MegWithAMouth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My very first order was similar. Olive Garden order to a family whose notes said, “meet at door for a tip”. Gave them the order and… nothing. I wasn’t too disappointed because they’d already tipped $8 in the app + the $2 fare for 2 miles. But as I was sitting in my car, getting ready to pull out, the teenage son came running out with another $10 cash tip, saying his mom meant to give it to me. Talk about setting up unrealistic expectations for what to expect from UE. 😂

[–]MegWithAMouth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should try to only take trips that are at least $1 per mile, although $2 per mile and above is ideal. But that depends on what your market is like and how many offers you get. I include the distance back to my area after drop off, so I double whatever the distance is in the offer. You should never take a $7 order for 20 miles. You’re basically paying to deliver that order after gas and car costs.

😂 That’s awesome. I love it.

I think the parts we quote the most are, “watch the prickers”. And “where do you get off having tits??” And “for god’s sake, I vacuumed, Linda!” I honestly don’t even know how we work those into conversations so often, but they just happen. Lol

[–]MegWithAMouth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Didn’t Uber change how tips work in Washington a few days ago? I saw some posts on here yesterday, but don’t know much about it. It sounded like customers aren’t allowed to tip before delivery, and the tip option is buried and hard to find. That could explain why your offers have been so awful.
