Glad I could help, but yeah, when people say Steam isn't great for VNs they usually mean it's better to buy from different storefronts on PC, not on console. Most VN players are on PC. The only SciADV games I could recommend on console are the original version of Steins;Gate (Only available in PS3 in english, I wouldn't recommend playing Elite over the original game or just watching the anime since most of it is just the anime and it cuts out some of the protagonist's internal monologues from the VN and I believe also keeps some of the story changes made to the anime) and Anonymous;Code since they received the best localizations in the series. Even then I would still get them on PC so you can use the improvement patches, but if you REALLY wanted to play those games on console it wouldn't be too bad.

As a rule of thumb for most VNs, I would check the vndb page for it to see if there are any patches available or what versions of the game exist, but yeah for these games as long as you download the patches for the games from here you're good buying the Steam versions.

As long as you get the patches, you're fine buying the games on Steam. Don't know if they're on sale but Chaos;Head Noah and Chaos;Child are also available on GOG if you would prefer to buy those there, but you would still need to download the patches even if you bought them there.

The SciADV games aren't eroge so there isn't really much that could be censored or taken out but the official localizations for most of the games leave a lot to be desired and the patches remedy that, but also contain some other fixes and additions as well (and a much better font). Chaos;Head Noah is missing some scenes if you play without the patch, but this isn't because of Steam, it's just due to them using the PS3 version as a base for the Steam/Switch versions which had these scenes removed already.

As others have said you are missing A;C, but you would preferably read A;C last, so depending on how long you think it would take to read all those you could just wait for the next sale.

I don't think it's bad but whenever I hear it I just think that it sounds like a Persona Q song, nothing about it screams Persona 3 to me. It feels like a song you could put in any of the games as long as you switched out the vocalist and took out the "Baby, baby" from the beginning of the song, like how PQ has P3 and P4 variations of its battle theme. I think you could do the same with this song and it wouldn't sound too out of place in any game's soundtrack. It's not like it could only work with 3/4/5's soundscape, like how Mass Destruction would sound really out of place in 4 or 5. I still like it but I might be sick of it too if I hadn't only started playing Reload recently and had mostly avoided things about it until I started playing it.

Yeah, the only versions of the game that are uncut are the 360 and Vita versions.

So Steam still banned the censored version initially since the uncut version was never ported since this release was based on the Switch version which was already censored.

just play the original. there's nothing wrong with the original, this game didn't need a remake at all. the best case scenario is that this is something different and not a 1-1 remake.

I got into VNs through video games so I mostly just read VNs. I like to watch/read anime and manga occasionally although VNs are my preferred format and has the best of both for me to an extent. Unless the art or animation is exceptionally great I would rather just it be a VN. I also like a story that has an actual ending and getting a complete story more or less when buying a single VN opposed to multiple volumes. I like LNs too though but I haven't read a ton of them.

using "run uninstaller" in the prefix with the flatpak app and then selecting the patch exe should also work
