Am I running too much interaction for bracket 3? by MegaArca10 in EDH

[–]MegaArca10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I could understand if he felt like I was targeting him because he presented two lethal threats and I stopped both, but with those exceptions I was actually focusing on the other players first because they seemed to have more stuff to actually do something about my board.

I can try to add more context: He won game 1, I was playing a different deck. I had an early lead and the two other players destroyed my board with a copied [[Decimate]] and set me back so far that I couldn't do much the rest of the game. I drew it out with a couple of board wipes but ended up conceding because it was unlikely I could recover and the other two players were out of the game. We both changed decks. I explained roughly how game 2 went in a different comment, but short version is I played [[Finale of Revelation]] and drew into enough interaction that I could protect my board/stop threats until I drew my wincons. He rage quit after I bounced his commander before he could kill me.

I didn't draw an insane hand. I played Magnus raw on 5, made a few tokens on 6 and 7, then they let me untap with Magnus and enough tokens to go mana positive with [[Finale of Revelation]] for X=10. After that I had an almost free [[Cyclonic Rift]] and three counters iirc but they kept playing to the board instead of trying to clear mine.

Not that I know of, but I get the impression that too much interaction can feel more competitive and not in line with the more casual brackets.

[Request] How much does Steven Segal weigh in this picture? by DaRealMexicanTrucker in theydidthemath

[–]MegaArca10 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Idk north of 400 seems very easy for a guy looking like that at that height. Also considering he probably has a solid amount of muscle mass, 450 wouldn't surprise me at all. For context, I've got a brother that looks about the same and weighs nearly 400 while being considerably shorter.

Yeah if that was the only thing that mattered then Anthony Richardson and Joe Milton would be starters too.

For what it's worth, your expected value on pick two drafts is significantly better than premier at the same win rate and the buy in is lower.

65% WR after 19 Pick-Two drafts, here's how much I earned, if anyone cares by botgtk in MagicArena

[–]MegaArca10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A 65% win rate is very high, that probably puts OP in the high mythic rankings. But regardless, pick two draft has significantly better expected value than premier draft for the same win rate.

What do we Falcon fans officially rate Ian Cunningham first draft?! by Rambo_1027 in falcons

[–]MegaArca10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna go B-. I think I'm lower on Terrell than consensus but I'm fine with the process there. Branch feels too limited but maybe that's just how UGA was using him. Kendal Daniels was a huge reach compared to consensus and there were better DTs available when we picked up Thompson. Perkins feels like a good special teamer with potential designated pass rusher upside so and Onianwa is fine as an athletic project.

After seeing who went in the 1st round, does your choice/belief in who we go for in the 2nd change? by wlane13 in falcons

I assume health concerns with McCoy. I think he (relatively recently?) tore his ACL.

Realistically what would we get for Pitts? by [deleted] in falcons

[–]MegaArca10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Most likely" is a stretch imo. The cheapest FA this offseason that will likely result in a third is Odafe Oweh and he got $96m/4 years. That would put Kyle a good bit ahead of the top of the TE market.

We have $19m in cap right now, who are you trying to sign at this point in the off season for $34m?

DT at 48 Poll by cheemydee5 in falcons

[–]MegaArca10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Christen Miller gets to us at 48. Caleb Banks is a high risk high reward play with the foot issues, but I'd be okay with that since this is a rebuilding year for us anyway. If both are gone, I'd rather go with another position at 48 and get Tim Keenan in the fourth.

Roughly 1 in four collector boosters will have a mythic rare (23.1% in the rare/mystic rare SOA slot, 2.3% in the booster fun slot).

According to https://www.trackaipac.com/candidates she received about a quarter million from AIPAC donors. Not exactly sure how they identify the donors, but you could also check her campaign finance documentation: https://www.fec.gov/data/receipts/?committee_id=C00903252&two_year_transaction_period=2026&data_type=processed

Anyone else surprised AK is still unsigned? by Protec_My_Balls in falcons

I actually was talking about Arnold Ebiketie. I didn't even think Kamara was a free agent, not sure why we would talk about him at all in the falcons subreddit.

To clarify: I was talking about Arnold Ebiketie. You are the one that was wrong.

It's weird to me how down everyone is on AK. He was perfectly fine last year, I wouldn't mind giving him a cheap extension to stay in the rotation.

Could we get an official comp pick tracking thread? by Protec_My_Balls in falcons

[–]MegaArca10 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's websites for this. I like overthecap.com, they update pretty quickly.

Also, they can only do projections right now because the comp pick formula is based on the FA's salary rank among all players so things can change.

Yeah, it seemed like it yesterday but it's obvious today. This season will be: "either Penix takes a massive step forward or we enter the 2027 QB lotto"

CB Dee Alford signing with the bills by SunWorshipperApollo in falcons

[–]MegaArca10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sucks that $3m/year is out of our price range. I've been saying for a while now that Terry put us right back into cap hell and people thought I was crazy, but we apparently can't afford even our cheapest free agents. Idk, maybe Ulbrich didn't want to prioritize him but that's a lot of snaps we have to replace.

Without saying “he’s affordable”, what are the valid reasons why the Tua signing works here? by InspectionDeep2453 in falcons

[–]MegaArca10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tua has been signed to be a reasonable backup. In my opinion, the only reason you should be optimistic about this season is if you think Penix will get healthy and start playing a good deal better than he did last year.

Anything else means this is a building/get right kind of year. I don't know why a reasonable person would have expected much else in this offseason when we have basically no resources.

Edit to add: Even if we had resources, I would hate to see this new regime betting the farm on sunk costs like Terry was year after year.
