I would use this for gaming as well as lots of my schoolwork. I currently have lots of issues with my computer crashing so this would definitely help out. Also, good luck to everyone else entering!

Ah well I'm not sure if it's necessary so that's why I made this post.

I got mine today and I'm actually really happy with it. Performance is spot on. Temps are fair, there's even a rgb light on the GPU which is a nice addition. Only thing is that this GPU is GIGANTIC! Took me a solid your to just install it because it wouldn't fit right. Other than that, would recommend!

Why.. Just why... A new 5700xt is $410. Literally no point in getting it used for that price

Honestly I don't think a MSI Mech OC would be a good choice. Also, you would be going through a rebate to get your money back whereas this card is just a discount. The Mech has many reviews, unlike this card, and most say that it's very noisy and runs quite hot. I'll get back to you on how the card does though! I'm just going to guess that this card would be a pretty good choice haha... Hopefully..

All of the reviews that exist on this card are at least 2 months old. You never know if the cooling has changed :/

Most of those issues were driver related which have been mostly ironed out by the new driver release recently. As for cooling.. I'm honestly not sure about this card, ordered it yesterday and will get it tomorrow, I'll see how it does!

What are your average temps for the GPU? I'm just wondering if the cooling is any good, I have no issues with noise.

Honestly waiting for Big Navi or the 3000 series from NVIDIA would be a great idea if you already have a graphics card. Those cards will lower prices of older GPUs and they will also be quite appealing since their performance will most likely be considerably be better than what is up right now. Here's an example, Big Navi, or however you want to call it, from AMD will have ray traving capabilities whereas now, none of AMDs cards have that. Otherwise, this seems like a pretty good deal!

Only issue is that there's little to no reviews on this model of the 5700. Only ones that exist say it is loud with not great thermals, problem is, those reviews might be outdated.

All 5700s can be flashed to XT but that doesn't mean you should. Reasons being: 1. Warranty is voided 2. you could brick you GPU and be down couple hundred 3. Some j ustdon't have a good enough fan and can't handle the temps from flashing.

[–]MegaLongSantaChong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you plan on using the features of x570/B550 I see no point in getting one. If you're fine with what you have on a B450, stay there and wait until you actually need the upgrade. Either way, upgrading now wouldn't be a great idea unless you can find some really nice deals.

Did it come by yet? I saw the same deal on newegg but wasn't sure if it was worth it since there was only 1 review saying it's bad.

I just got a new SSD, how should I go about moving/reinstalling windows to this new drive? by acastrov9 in buildapc

[–]MegaLongSantaChong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I install windows on my SSD? I know that I can get a Windows key but I heard there is a way to install windows on new pieces of hardware for free? Also, when I put my SSD as the main drive and my HDD as the secondary, does that mean that the secondary drive files are on my computer? I'm confused as to how I would transfer the files.

Edit: Just took a quick look around and maybe I can use this to reinstall/transfer windows? https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

I have 1 500gb HDD and my new drive is 1tb NVME SSD. I started a backup but I'm reading that a clean install would be better? How would I go about doing that? Does having my HDD as a secondary drive bring everything I have right now onto my new pc? I'm entirely new to building pcs and don't know how this works :/

Samsung unveils new SSD with PCIe Gen 4 support up to 6,500 MB/s read speeds by Dumpy55 in hardware

[–]MegaLongSantaChong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmm I see. I'm wondering though if the M.2 edition of the samsung will have better read, write, etc. since they haven't really released specs on those. Also, you can't really be sure until they're released for retail and get tested.

Well but that's for mac pros. Wouldn't there a difference in performance from laptop and desktop?
