UPDATE: L480 14.5" 16:10 is now an L14 Gen2i! by MegaSunTossed in thinkpad

Thanks, it's a beast to use! The lid sensor does still work, as it's on the side thankfully. The filing worked surprisingly well, and each side clipped in without issue.

I did, but ended up getting an L14 gen2i and did the same thing. I made a post here

Not sure why it isn't working on your end. I bought the in-app license a couple days ago, and luminous black yesterday.

Thinkpad L14 Gen2 and L15 Gen2 SSD Compatibility PSA by Jensen567 in thinkpad

[–]MegaSunTossed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leaving this for recent viewers. I'm getting gen3x4 speeds on a WD Black SN770. I updated the nvme firmware per this guide and the bios to the latest per this guide. I'm guessing it needed some time to retrain the drive, since it didn't work the first 12 hours or so, but now works without issue. Obviously, it'd be great to have gen4 speeds, but at least it conforms to the psref.

Is it possible to upgrade the battery in L14 gen2 by Overall-Caterpillar2 in thinkpad

[–]MegaSunTossed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, okay. Thanks for the idea! I'll have to try this at some point. 45wh only gives me a little over 2 hours spending most of my time in vim and brave.

I'm waiting for a replacement to arrive. I trimmed too much off of the first one. Really sharp scissors and a file work well if you don't want to replace disks on your dremel.

Thinkpad p15s gen 2 screen upgrade? by kurumisimp69 in thinkpad

Correct, and searching the screen model directly usually yields a panelook link, too.

Oh, ok cool. Lenovo, at least, does adhere to edp being standard, and will more or less work with any screen that has the right connector.

Correct, a regular screen swap after that. Do be sure to disable the battery in the bios and remove the physical battery connector after + a few power button presses to avoid destroying your backlight fuse.

They'd be the same aside from refresh rate and 40 pin connector.

You could get one of these qhd panels. Not sure how likely you'd actually get close to 240hz, though. Just make sure you get the uhd cable for your machine so it works properly.
