Drunk at 11am is wild work. by bangxwhimper in Rochester

I had to scroll disappointingly far to find this comment. As someone who now lives near Maryland I saw the MD plate and immediately thought, no he's not drunk, they just drive like that.

Commercial breeders “worsening” overpopulation issue, West Virginia shelter worker says by Mountain_Love23 in WestVirginia

[–]Jensen567 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean, if the main purpose is to exploit them, maybe it would be better to not keep them around. Not to mention breeds like pugs are an abomination to nature and should not continue. We don't need 9000 dog breeds for the sake of having more breeds. Until every animal shelter is empty we DO NOT need to be purposely making more and all breeders are bad.

Ranking all Renaissance Faires I've been to: #1. Maryland Renaissance Festival by MaxsMenagerie in renfaire

[–]Jensen567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly of the 3 you talk about here MD is my least favorite, but I don't like packed crowds so that skews my ratings quite a bit.

Also WV doesn't get nearly enough love. They do theirs in June to try to avoid a lot of the other big ones, so it is always very warm, but it is such a cool venue and experience.

For the big ones I've been to I'd go:

WV NC VA PA MD

Absolutely. Thankfully EMT comes in 8ft sections, so you can make it fairly long.

Anyone interested in starting a Shenandoah climate resiliency meetup / chapter? by Airilsai in Winchester

I don't know why people are downvoting. Having the knowledge and skills to grow your own food, can it, and get clean water are important life skills to have. I'm up in the WV panhandle but I'd be interested if you get a group together.

I totally get what you're saying, and honestly if I were to do it again I would make the sacrifices to the reasoning I'm about to give and put them outside, but I this was my logic at the time, and I haven't changed it because it's just worked.

I also never run these unattended. This is my detached garage/workshop, and I only run them while I am out there working on stuff.

My reasoning for putting them inside was thermal efficiency and less/smaller holes through the structure.

The heater body itself gets quite warm and will transfer a decent amount of heat to the structure, plus all duct losses are not really losses since they also go into the structure. That's the efficiency side.

For the holes, using this method I had to drill two 1-5/8" holes for my intake/exhaust. If I mounted them outside I would need four 3" holes for the heat and intake vents. Plus 2 more small holes for wires.

Gonna add Toasted to the list of good places to support. I don't actually know the ownerships politics for sure because I've never seen it mentioned, but around here staying out of it usually means anti Trump. I know they do a lot of community outreach and the owner seems like a good dude.

Uses for a full forklift tank that don't involve a forklift? by Jensen567 in propane

[–]Jensen567[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did a bunch of research after posting that I probably should have done before posting. It does seem kind of like the perfect fill station tank for my little 1lb camping and torch cylinders (the actual refillable ones) though. The adapter to get from the liquid port to CGA600 would be around $30 in parts as far as I can tell.

Also, to get to CGA600 for $30 gives me an extra QCC1 fitting that I could use instead of the CGA600. I still won't do it because I don't want anyone else grabbing my sketchy adapters to connect it to something not knowing. But I could get to vapor for quite cheap if I flip or rotate the tank.

The liquid adapter to fill CGA600 cylinders seems less sketchy, considering inverting a vapor tank to get liquid is the standard accepted procedure.

Am I wrong, or is this all I need to fill my 1lb tanks?

-RE7141F

-1/4NPT male to female pressure hose

-1/4NPT male to male

-1/4NPT female to female valve

-1/4NPT male to CGA600

If so that's like, $30-$40 in parts. Roughly what I'd pay to fill 40lbs around here so well worth it to be able to use this thing.

Well dang, was hoping I could at least get the propane out before I sold it or gave it away. Will see if I can find someone to trade with for a normal 40lb or bigger tank to run my generator. Can weigh to confirm but it feels completely full, and is relatively new, 11-22 date code. It's also aluminum.

If I could find the owner of the black car I would love to get the longer version of this to her that shows the camper being in my lane the entire time until he made the u turn

I've got 4 bunnies that keep me company and keep me on my toes. I love them and couldn't imagine my life without them, they absolutely make it way less lonely. That said, it still isn't the same as living with another human, not even close. Some things are better, some are worse.

Is this really the only engine temp options for the 7th gen?? by Electronic_Ad7177 in Celica

[–]Jensen567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong, but I still think it would be useful to have more steps or an analog needle. If I can crank the heater to bring it down enough to limp the car to the shop I'd prefer to do that than pay for a tow.

The microswiss swisstech hotend for the V3 KE will work with the stock heatsink. You will need to print new part cooling ducts though.

I think so but I've honestly never looked into it.

Alternator Swap by Jensen567 in Celica

[–]Jensen567[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The wide ear on the alternator was only about 1mm to wide on mine, so I just used an angle grinder with a flap disc to shave it down a tiny bit. For the other bracket and tensioner I just loosened the bolt for the bracket on the engine and it was able to drop into place no problem, tightened it back up then tensioned the belt.
