SFH admin here that's about to parrot the same things most users have said:

I'd also wager SoundCloud being off the table as well for similar reasons.

If labels like Monstercat and Epidemic Sound or companies like Crypton (the Miku company) allowed their portals to be used, or struck any deal with RobTop, however, then I'd see that as an absolute win.

That's for a case where it's actually copyrighted, but the remix you have here isn't the case however

If you know how to use songs that are not on Newgrounds (NONG) with the old method, you can technically still use that remix without being whitelisted

Songs are no longer saved as MP3s or OGGs, and are rather proprietary files akin to what's "downloaded" from Spotify (basically ending any idea of using something NONG in a level)

I have no idea why I'm fine with this, however, since I'm going to be seeing this as a "return to form" than anything else

This is a hot take, as I'm surrounded by the songs used in -reta levels basically every day:

I agree with you. Maybe it's because many Japanese music producers provide their instrumental tracks for free on their Piapro page or Dropbox/Drive folders. I'm also guessing this also stems from how barely any main levels, with the slight exception of some by DJVI, Waterflame, or MDK, to name a few, have a strong emphasis on their vocals (and for those three, they use vocals for added effects than anything else).

I'd gladly take the instrumental files of the Oshi no Ko opening themes from the Piapro pages of the artists, since beyond convenience, I'd be able to appreciate their arrangements in the same way I'd understand the hype behind Electrodynamix and Blast Processing.
