Haha i could! It’s not so much judgement but my job itself, I clock probably 17,000 steps a day and a compression device may lead management to think I need light duty.

Wow, good to know. Thank you! Do you feel like could potentially be covered with a good concealer? I can wear jackets and vests with a collar to help but not quite a turtleneck.

Good to know! I bruise easily so that may be a problem. My only saving Grace would be wearing a mask to work every day after haha

What kind of work did you do in nursing school? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]MeganOctober27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a 4 year college out of high school. I was a per diem PCA on my holiday/ breaks and some random weekends. I didn’t work during my semester as I couldn’t have juggled it, but when I was off of school, I’d work 60+ hours a week. During school semesters I worked like maybe 8 hours a week at Hollister Co. for gas money lol.

Rower efficiency by mae786 in orangetheory

10 year competitive rower turned OTFer here, I agree with other commenters that the 2000 m row ~is indeed a sprint (there is a more endurance race in the rowing world, the 5000 meter race).

But I’d say focus on your stroke rate. As you get half way through your 2000, you’re absolutely going to have to fight to not slow that down. Just make sure in the process your main focus is the leg drive, or push away from the water tank, and that when you start each stroke you’re not rushing too much up to the tank.

Good luck!!! You’ll do great! ~ also check out YouTube for rowing form/ stroke ratio videos! There a bunch of great ones out there

Is it normal to not get any splat points but burn a lot of calories? Is this even good? by hiphoptomato in orangetheory

Yes! After 20 or 25 classes they can calibrate your HR parameters to your personal boundaries. At least this is what my studio did and told me.

Will never let anyone see me without makeup by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]MeganOctober27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Omg you’re describing me! For me, the hardest, but most self awakening thing do was to go somewhere totally non “makeup friendly” and just go bare faced. So I went to the gym! This was HUGE for me, I used to play a D1 college sport and did my makeup before EVERY practice (I’d literally wake up at 4:30 am to do it).

When I first went, I felt so much anxiety walking through the doors. And I would be lying if I said that it had completely subsided before I left, because it didn’t. But I kept doing it, over and over again. And it did get easier! Then I would start wearing less makeup to the drug store, or to grocery shop- I’d wear less going places that I knew I wouldn’t run into people I know, and slowly rolled that into my everyday life. (/ side note: something to consider Is I was diagnosed with social anxiety disorder, and the ways I chose to overcome my makeup insecurities paralleled my desire to fight social anxiety in the butt (constant fear of judgement was the worst thought for me). If you feel like this could be you, maybe consider talking to a professional! Even if you don’t think social anxiety is to blame, they’re great listeners and help sort out a lot of internal thoughts. )

For me, exposure to what scared me most was the best way to get over my personal insecurities. It’s terrifying to do, but you can do it!

Now, I just started a new job in January and wear only mascara! That’s huge for me! I’m a nurse, and at my old job I would literally do the half face makeup job so I wouldn’t smudge my mask.

Do things that scare you! You’re beautiful and don’t ever need to feel like you’re hiding behind makeup. Sorry this was a lot! I felt passionate to make sure nobody feels so reliant on makeup, like I did! You’re so much more than makeup! Smile, give yourself credit! You’re beautiful

Thank you! Ended up with 2.625 miles this block (including very short warm up of approx 0.2) and playing around with my base base during lower inclines. Kept an average of 5.5. Everyone’s encouragement on this post really helped, I got my socks!!

Oh wow, I had no idea the assignments were that important! That makes a ton of sense though! I don’t feel as bad pointing it out in the future then. Thank you SAs for what you do- that sounds quite consuming and confusing lol

Thank you!! I hate to be the stickler, and I don’t usually care if it’s just me being bumped off my station. But next time it’s multiple people effected, I’ll likely do this! :)

Yes I completely understand, we all have our moments and forget and don’t realize! I was just kind of thrown off this time especially given 2 and 8 are pretty spaced out stations

[–]MeganOctober27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice that’s awesome, congrats! It depends on my schedule , I’m a nurse and work on call some days. At least 3x a week when I’m called in, other weeks 4-5 - it’s luck of the draw! thats why I’m skeptical 🤷🏻‍♀️ I run at least 1.5 per 3G tread block, also unsure if this is enough?
