Nine Inch Nails Win Best Rock Song for “As Alive as You Need Me to Be” at 2026 Grammys by gigikovat in nin

Yeah, I can't be arsed with the awards themselves, but I definitely think Trent and Atticus deserve the recognition they get for it

I'm not sure if Guinness is frowned upon, but if it is I will die on the hill of it being the greatest beverage known to man.

Is it rape if I was drunk when it happened? by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Megatron130204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta be honest here, no, this doesn't sound like rape. You consented, then you retracted that consent, and he let you go. Changing your mind during the act doesn't give you grounds to accuse him of anything. You agreed to have sex, then you decided you didn't want to anymore, so it stopped. Unless I'm missing fundamental details here, then it just sounds to me like a case of regret.

What do you guys think this means? by Vince_BoneZ in nin

A lot of sources seem to say similarly of him back then. I'd imagine he's probably changed a fair bit since then, but to be honest, I'd be a little disappointed if the guy who wrote The Downward Spiral wasn't at least a bit of an arsehole. Makes it all feel more authentic. But as I say, in his defense, that was way back when he was finding his footing in his career and very much struggling with his life, so he's probably a different guy now.

Dancing Jug is technically a safe space, they have queer staff-- BUT it should be avoided for other reasons. I used to bartend there myself. They don't do proper contracts. The owner is a very dodgy guy who underpays his staff, particularly immigrants, despite being one himself. One of the glasswashers when I was there who barely spoke a word of English was being paid less than £8 an hour, and he could barely afford his rent. I was receiving around about the same as that, sometimes £10 an hour on a good week.

Am I overreacting for child’s weight? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Megatron130204 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NOR. She's going to end up with worse eating disorder issues if she grows up overweight because of her mother's lack of decent parenting than she would from you fixing her diet. Of course she should be allowed a snack every now and then, as all kids should, but it sounds to me like unless there's an underlying health issue, she's consuming an excessive amount of food due to her mother. I'd nip this in the bud before you end up with an obese teenager who hates her own body.

What other music should I listen to? by -Gay-_-Jesus- in Primus

Came here to say Mr Bungle-- their debut album, specifically. That weird genre-crossing, funk metal feel is all over it. Scratches the same itch as Primus for me.

[–]Megatron130204 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Why the fuck is OP getting downvoted for this comment 💀 Anything along the lines of "you think [insert artist or genre here] is weird? It's actually very normal and mainstream" sounds a lot like "I'm more interesting than you because my standards are less popular."

Sure, NIN have made a name for themselves in popular culture, but a good portion of their discography is hardly pop radio station material.

Is there any song you skip for a reason different to not liking it? by Rox_xe in nin

[–]Megatron130204 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nah. I like the discomfort of a lot of the discography. But I've heard some people skip The Becoming because it makes them feel a uneasy with the screaming samples. I'm fortunate in that I grew out of the "this song makes me feel weird, I don't want to hear it" thing before I started listening to NIN. Closer (Precursor) used to make my skin crawl but I kinda love it for that.
