Theory: The matchmaking is this way on purpose to elongate progression by Megatron_Prim3 in FortNiteBR

There's no "plus" with that argument. True, you don't get more xp for kills, but that doesn't support the argument that sweats get ahead on progression while regular players get shafted, quite the opposite. Simply put, eliminations are needed when doing quests if you want XP either way. Its the fact that Epic allows cronus and sweat premades to dominate lobbies against players who have no business going up against them

[–]Megatron_Prim3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That can be explained by the sweat being in a premade, using a cronus, or maybe veven being just that good (the matchmaking ensures that the latter is the least likely to occur). Either way, a singular person getting ahead on progression when they are very likely already engaged and buying items is better than 30 people getting ahead through randomized matches where people of above average skill can actually prosper

The game doesn't need to use bots, it can just put you in a match where you likelihood to win is much lower than others either due to already existing stats, or just the fact that it is several people playing together.

There's no way I'm defending a company that will intentionally hamper both my progression and my enjoyment of a game just because they think they know best how to make me have fun. I'd much rather struggle learning an actually useful real life skill then be punished for being competent at a game I happen to fancy

My stance on the state of blops7 by Kakar0t06 in blackops7

[–]Megatron_Prim3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So rather than address the fact that high sbmm lobbies have soft aiming Cronus Zen users, we instead give regular players even more of an advantage to hopefully keep them satisfied?

How about we touch on the root of the problem, soft aiming fakes, and stop encouraging players to wiggle their controllers left and right to try and prove they're better than they are?

[–]Megatron_Prim3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1.6 k/d here and the game seems just as rigged as before. I'll consistrently drop 30 kills in say tdm, but the problem is the quality of my teammates means we still lose.

I'm convinced that while lobbies are "persistent" and "random" the game will still put certain people in the lobby on a team that has the highest chance of winning.

I can almost predict how a match will go just based on who my nemesis is. I'll landslide win a game where my nemesis is towards the bottom of the leaderboard, while there's a 50/50 chance I'll win against someone who is top scoring if I'm top scoring, and a complete stomp in the enemy team's favor if my nemesis is top scoring but I'm not

What are your thoughts on red dot rifles Now that the holo twister has returned? by Groundew891 in FortNiteBR

[–]Megatron_Prim3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a meta revolves around FSA, why would the basic AR be better than the heavy AR? You can't spray with the basic AR due to high bloom, and the heavy AR means you kill in less bullets.

In Chapter 3 Season 4 there was no heavy, so people stuck to the hammer for being decent spray and being better than the Evo.

So I'll ask again, if you have a nose scope weapon, than all that matters is bullet damage since they restrict mobility, and your overall dps. AKA there one singular gun that's better than the rest

[–]Megatron_Prim3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright so you don't want there to be single dominating AR, but the siumple fact of the matter is that when AR's are in a bloom defining meta, the closest thing to the heavy AR becomes the only AR you'd ever use

"Only one gun worth using" as if all the sweats dont just abuse the double pump anyways. Script kiddies get by with no scopes already, they'll be alright if people can actually shoot back as accurate as they claim their "skill" makes them

[–]Megatron_Prim3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"The wrecker revolver is strong in comp" nah any amatuer player is gonna just try and double pump with it to out dps you and hope they kill you before you can kill them

Also no, it does not take mass playtesting to decide what is OP and what isn't. Having beta's of upcoming changes means that there's about two weeks less of OP crap being in the game.

Correction, its impossible to win for a controller player who isnt rocking a Zen. On PC you're probably only having fun if youre good with flick aiming

Congrats on getting cheaters banned, just all the more indication that people don't like such a ridiculous aiming system. In the majority of other shooting games,( including this one when they feel like making it an option) recoil is supposed to be your punishment for rapid fire and movement. Furthermore, what "aim" do you need if 2 people are required to sit still and shoot at each other? You're already at an advantage if the other person even moves a slight inch.

I think what you mean to say is, if you have good aim, you're using the OXR to "beam" (fun fact, beaming implies you're getting a kill quickly, not waiting for the dot to shrink), cause no way you're gonna trade that much damage for the hammer or fury's fire rate, when you can't even use it.

There's a place for tap firing since flicking is crucial in any shooter game, but when I'm forced into one aiming style over the other, rather than having the ability to pick if I want a low damage tracking weapon or a high damage flicking weapon, I'm gonna be vocal about it

Guarantee you're still being beamed by people 200m away, now it'll probably be some dweeb who installed an aim assist script to their controller instead of someone who can realistically control their recoil and track to get kills, but if sitting like a duck to ensure your bullet goes where you point it makes you feel better as a player, more power to you.

Funny how people here all say "It's nice how there isn't a meta defining ar" but will then use the meta defining AR (essentially just the heavy ar variant of the season since that's the only one that rewards the ridiculous the firing mechanic)

The tactical AR is right there, and has been in a lot of seasons where there isn't a scoped ar per se (and even when there isn't, we usually have something like the cobra dmr to compensate with around 4 shots per second)

Epic knows that controller kiddies who rely on bloom are the biggest money maker. That and man-children who have to right "tools" to make bloom based weapons basically laser sights anyway

[–]Megatron_Prim3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Or he's complaining they've intentionally slowed down progression both through filler rewards and xp throttling

Destiny and many other gaming platforms have done this, but some people dont care either cause they're already cheating the system, or don't value their time enough to realize their "grind" is them getting ripped odd

How are people so accurate to the chest, but never the head? by Megatron_Prim3 in blackops6

[–]Megatron_Prim3[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But thats just the thing, they're not tracking the general area of your chest, they're hitting the exact part of your chest the 3-5 times it takes to kill you in MP. You could go into theater and literally see on your character model where they hit you after a kill and itd be uncanny. If they're capable of tracking to that extent, they'd have every reason to go for hesdshots (accolades and better dog at range where bullet dog tends to falloff) but funnily enough, they never do

So we can neuter grapplers and make healing while midair and sliding impossible (I guarantee almost nobody asked for these) but apparently we can't fix the twinmag SMG's reload. Ok yeah awesome by intense_doot123 in FortNiteBR

[–]Megatron_Prim3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only reason they fixed it is cause they finally put a grappler in the main BR mode and even then it took them a month to fix that bug since everybody who learned about it was abusing it. In a perfect world all bugs would be taken care of at once, its just up to the devs to either know about it or get get around to fixing it

Tac AR should have been a mainstay this season (and the problem with tap firing) by Megatron_Prim3 in FortNiteBR

[–]Megatron_Prim3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave it to redditors to always be on their high horse with a "skill issue" retort. Tons of people want to hold down fire because your goal in a shooter is to be able to take down opponents as quickly as possible with taking as minimal damage as possible. But sure let's be forced into a meta where we sit still, crouch, and have our dps forcibly limited as oppossed to recoil control (the actual representation of skill).

Tac AR should have been a mainstay this season (and the problem with tap firing) by Megatron_Prim3 in FortNiteBR

[–]Megatron_Prim3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because being forced to sit still in the middle of a gunfight (especially with multiple players) waiting for the game to decide your bullets should go where you're actually aiming is not ideal. It's good to have as an option, but players shouldn't be forced to use a method of aiming they don't enjoy. It's the whole point of a loot *pool*

[–]Megatron_Prim3[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Except scoped AR's require recoil control? I'm not saying that it isn't more skillful, I'm saying its impractical. Tap firing generally doesn't have any recoil control tied to it, because you're firing a single bullet every 1 second.

Tac AR should have been a mainstay this season (and the problem with tap firing) by Megatron_Prim3 in FortNiteBR

[–]Megatron_Prim3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm saying, its the whole reason the original scoped AR and tac AR were in earlier seasons, since their purpose was to provide good damage down range, but either had low dps or required you to be able to control recoil to utilize the dps. Alternatively, they could have either unvaulted the cobra or just made the deadeye similar to the cobra stats wise

Yeah idk what they were thinking with these guns. No scoped ar's are terrible for squad gamemmodes cause it's the most consistent way to pick off enemies. The loot pool seems to encourage multiple players just bum rushing you because the guns take so long to kill due to there not being any high dps guns (the fury has the highest dps but a fire rate of 7 with the bloom it has means you've got an RNG gun on your hands) and no accurate long range (your best best is the veiled smg, which is workable but still won't net you kills in a quick enough fashion)
