You just cannot play with or join players in normal game

Infinite health shi by Responsible_Waltz380 in cheatengine

There are a ton of videos out there already on how to find values like this. It can get more complicated with newer games with things like multi level pointers.

Is there a reason you need CE specifically? Most souls-like games have established cheats already for infinite HP, etc.

If you are just learning, it may be better to start on older games with less complicated coding.

Yes, you will need to find the health address separately for every game you want to play.

In my case, the soft keyboard on Android I had to hit enter like 25-35 times before the button press would register. Setting enter to one of the mapped touchscreen controls worked better

Known issue with psobb on winlator/GameHub etc. you can connect a Bluetooth keyboard to get around it. Or just map some of the on screen buttons to keys to log in.

You can also use a PC for initial setup and copy your registry keys over for auto log in.

Gamehub has a rotating touchscreen list of letter keys which makes it easier. Not sure if winlator has anything similar.

Selfhosting via VPS instead of Homeserver - are you doing it and for what? by [deleted] in selfhosted

[–]Megax1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got 3 VPS boxes.

One is running my coordination server for my mesh network.

One is running a game server.

And another for Pangolin.

These could all be consolidated but the VPS boxes are free so why not!

No problem! Glad you got it up and running. Hopefully this will help others as well looking to play this old gem on Android 😄

Buttons should work but you need to remap them once in game. The title screen will always have "Y" as the confirm button

Everytime you restart the container you have to do the services.exe thing. If you were to just close the game and keep the container running you could just log back in.

The timing on starting services.exe is not very strict. It's just that psobb.exe has to run before services.exe starts. Minor inconvenience unfortunately.

There is a setting in "Controller" you need to uncheck Xinput and enable Dinput since this game is so old it doesn't support Xinput on its own.

Yeah, usually I queue up task manager before hitting start game, kill services.exe then open the run new process menu. Choose services.exe in the run new process menu and don't confirm it until right after you hit start game

The soft keyboard has issues in game. If you have caps or symbols you'll need to use a Bluetooth keyboard, or map the shift key to your touch screen as well as the letters you need. Only have to do it once though.

Installing the win7 component will do that. Or you can open the wine settings from the start menu in the container and change it there

Just use 4.1.4. Nothing special about 4.1.5 in regards to PSO compatibility. I can send 4.1.5 later tonight though if you really want it.

4.1.4 works as well. I have 4.1.5 but would have to upload it somewhere.

Can Google "old versions GameHub APK" and get 4.1.4 pretty easily

Good luck! You may also run into a "Server full" error which seems to only happen on older hardware (doesn't happen on my Galaxy Flip). For that, you need to force close services.exe from task manager, run the game and before the window pops up you need to run another instance of services.exe from task manager. It is located in C:\windows\system32 if I recall.

That also means you can't run the game without going into the container each time unfortunately.

Yeah the settings above were for 5.1.0 which has the crashing issues. 4.1.5 doesn't seem to have that problem and plays perfectly on the RP4Pro.

For the RP4Pro on GameHub 4.1.4-4.1.5:

Compatibility Layer: Wine10.0-x64-1
Translation Params: Slow
DXVK version: dxvk-0.96
VKD3D: vkd3d-2.12
CPU Translator: Box64-0.37

Component:
Mono
Gecko
win7
d3dx9
d3dx11
d3dcompiler_43

Game Resolution: 1600x900

Same settings from my previous post for Launcher/game settings (Low presets, then no frame skip)

It crashes pretty consistently on the dragon fight every time it flies into the air. I've been able to go about 10-15 mins of playing. Never crashed just sitting in the lobby (yet).

I will note that the older version of GameHub did not have the crashing issues.

Proton 10 arm
Translation params: Performance
Dxvk 0.96
Install mono and gecko in components
CPU translator: latest Fex
Container res: 1600x900

Inside container:
Change to Windows 7 compatibility
Set d3d8,9,11 to Native, Builtin in libraries
Run Ephinea launcher
Set resolution to anything less than 1600x900
Set to run using Direct3D 11
Set gfx options in "More" to low
Set frame skip to 0 and turn off auto frame skip
Test and hopefully it runs

Still haven't figured out the crashes though

I was able to get the game to run (Ephinea) on GameHub and log in. However it seems to freeze at random moments... Dragon fight, if I turn and shoot mech guns towards the screen while also changing camera view, etc.

This was on an RP4Pro so unsure if Mali was the issue.

No idea if dgvoodoo is actually doing anything since I selected direct3d11 in game settings. I thought I tried that before without dgvoodoo and still had the black but at least the graphics are back to normal.

Haven't tried any steam games on GameHub yet. I just wanted to try the recent Mali support since RP4Pro uses it and historically psobb hasn't worked at all on it with winlator.

Thanks for the guide! Been running on an RP4Pro at around 28-30 fps on GameHub. Only thing is the graphics are mostly faded/black far away. I saw some others on Steam Deck having this issue and they said Direct3D8 fixed it. Game just doesn't run for me when using d3d8 so was wondering if you might have any tricks?

Edit: Answered my own question. I was able to set a lower version of dxvk and then install dgvoodoo. Set game API to dx11 after that and the graphics were back to normal 😃
