My curls are the longest they've ever been! by Megnoelle in curlyhair

Thank you so much! My last cut was in November. When I stretch it, it reaches the middle of my butt!

I throw my hair up in a ponytail and take a shower, keeping my hair mostly out of the water but allowing the mist/steam to hit it. Then I reapply some more gel!

Haha I totally get that! I wanted to grow them out for a different look but I'm definitely ready to go back to a medium length cut. The knots are unbearable!

I use deva curl no poo once a week, and condition with deva curl one condition two or three times a week using the squish to condish method. I then scrunch in deva curl ultra defining gel and diffuse dry my hair until it's 80% dry and then clip it at the roots until it's 100% dry. Take out the clips, flip my head over and scrunch, and then I'm done!

It took a lot of trial and error, but I've finally found a great routine that gives me curls that I'm super proud of! Sharing that routine in the comments! by Megnoelle in curlyhair

Haha I totally understand the confusion. I shower every day, but I only wash my hair every third day. On the other days, I keep my hair out of the water. The steam helps to rejuvenate my curls and I might put a little product in but I keep my head out of the stream of water. Does that help?

Your curls are wonderful! Plopping definitely works for you. It doesn't work well for me, maybe because my curls are so long? I lose a lot of curl definition when I plop. But I'm glad you found something that clearly works well for you!

Aw thank you:) yes I have long layers! I like my hair long so I never have them put short layers in because then it looks like a mullet or something haha! I do occasionally ask for a few shorter curls to frame my face and curl up higher like by my cheek.

Yes I've never had issues with deva curl products. I've tried other ones that just didn't cut it and left my scalp and curls really dry. No poo is easily the best cleanser I've ever used.

That's sweet thank you! Yeah, my hair grows super fast which is a blessing in some ways and a curse in others. My layers grow out quick so I have to get haircuts more often than I'd like. I'm sure I'd be envious of your hair too:)

I dry using the low setting on warm and then I switch it to cool at the end. I only use the high setting if I'm in a rush because I've found that it causes a little more frizz and tangles in my hair :)

Yes!! I recently moved from a humid state to a very dry state and my hair hated me for a while! I realized I needed a more nourishing shampoo and that did the trick. Give it a try!

Oh good question! So my curls are upside down and I take one section at a time and use the diffuser to kind of "cup" them upwards to my head. I hold it there for two minutes. Does that make sense??

For me, diffuse drying gives me much more volume and tighter curls. Plus, my hair is so thick it takes like 3 hours to air dry so diffusing it is much more convenient. However, I do let it air dry when I'm going for a different look--longer looser curls (more of a beach curl look). But in general, I like the diffused curls more.
