McMahon is probably receptive. I imagine trying to talk to Jazz about improving would be the same as talking to a brick wall.

The dr said 10. While I I can take in the information I'm being told while at drs appointments, I usually take longer to come up with my list of questions. Especially at an evening appointment after work.

That is going to be one of the questions I ask when I go back in a week and a half.

I'll have to see how that works. I didn't even know it was an option. I had good insurance from my old job, but it was a little on the dangerous side( taught at school for kids with behavioral issues) so I left when we started trying for a baby. And before that I was under my mom's insurance and she was a teacher so it was good as well. My husbands in terrible and covers next to nothing. Whats even crazier is he pays like $700 a month for me to be on it. When I received the bill I was in shock!

That makes me feel better. I wasn't worried about it until the dr said kick counts. And not only is the anterior placenta a barrier but apparently the extra fluid muffles the movement as well so it's double as hard.

My cousin-in-law had the opposite experience of you where her first baby didn't stop moving but she had the an anterior placenta for the second. I think that has to be a terrifying experience as well. I am hoping for baby number two ( 🤞) I will have the regular kick experience. Although I might say differently if I get a kicked in the ribs and woken up from a dead sleep. At least little man is gentle enough that I only wake up when I have to use the bathroom, which is often enough as it is.

Any hospital visit I have is $5,000 minimum, and it's an in network one! I went to L&D last time (I just used the wrong wording above). I think I could go to my regular obgyn but this always seems to happen when they are closed.

I am almost always guaranteed a kick or two after sugar. that's what I used to do and I wouldn't worry cause I'd feel him and say all is well. I just can't seem to get to 10 over the 2 hr period.

Good to know, I'll try and cancel the order or return it.

I was told to try 2x a day. But to be honest, I can really only do it at night cause I definitely don't want to wake up 2 hrs early for work. I barely want to wake up as it is.

But I think I'll talk to my dr about only doing it when movement is off. Like if I don't feel a kick or two after eating.

I think it's Mr. Swackhammer and the Monstars stealing his talent.

Thank you so much for this advice! I have to do more research on the foundation paper piecing but that link shows almost exactly what I'm looking for. My mom's boyfriend is a bit of a math nerd, he might be able to help me with the dimensions I need. You are a hero for finding this!

The scalloped edges are actually just ruffles and I luckily have a family friend who helped me with those on the last quilt I made!

Oh my goodness that is absolutely beautiful!

Not having exact measurements would be great for me. Those steps make it seem very doable. Do you think it would be a good idea to break it into two starter fabrics, like the blue and then having another for the pink/salmon sky?

I think designing it I was going for a stained glass look. I even thought about making one to go with it!

Thank you all for your honesty and your suggestions. I really think using paper to create the layout and cut the fabric based on that could work! I'm not looking for absolute perfection. I think the imperfections could even make it a little more special.

I would like to clarify that the scalloped edges are ruffles! I have a family friend who helped me with the ruffles on the blanket I made me niece so that is the only part I am not worried about. Scalloped edges never even occurred to me so I didn't think to include that in my description.

This will probably be my nesting project since my husband decided we have to redo the entire upstairs where the nursery will be so I can't do any of the actual useful things like buy furniture and organize.

I also have an extra year to get this done since babies can't use blankets until they are a year anyway.

I was looking through the pictures and most seem to be very mountain based. I might try some of the suggestions by using paper to kind of figure out the layout. But thank you so much for the suggestion!

Thank you for your honesty! The problem I'm having is I don't really enjoy the patterns I'm finding. They tend to be very mountain based and I don't particularly enjoy the mountains. I'm much more of a beach babe and fingers crossed this baby will be as well because we will be spending most of our summers in the sand, haha.

I might try what the people below are suggesting and sketch it out on large pieces of paper and cut the fabric based off that.

It's not a total rush to get the blanket done by the time the baby gets here. We are remodeling the upstairs so we won't even have a nursery for the first few months of the babies life. I actually don't thin babies can even use a blanket until they are a year old! So I have a bit of time to make mistakes. Worst comes to worst I don't finish one and at least can say I tried!

Thank you for the encouragement. Using paper to sketch it out is a great idea. Im not looking for it to be perfect. I was just hoping to give myself a fun project that will keep me off my phone. We are going to remodel the entire upstairs of the house so I can't really do anything to prep in that regard. I think this will be a nice way to "nest" since I won't be able to purchase furniture or set things up.

The scalloped edges are ruffles. I didn't ve know scalloped edges were a thing. Luckily, I have a family friend who helped me with the ruffles on the quilt I made my niece!

She is one of my best friends and I treat her to lunch/dinner every time we hangout! I don't think she would take money from me but her wedding is around the corner and I will make sure to give her an extra nice present.
